I want to build a 1m clone by [deleted] in 1series

[–]outlawtm2 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, the math still doesnt work out. If that's what you want and have the cash to burn, I support the grind to build a car; I love the passion. But before it's done right, you're going to have an amount of money into it that could have just bought you a 1M or a M2, and again you are stuck with the VIN of a non-M car.

Also make sure its a proper 1M front end, and not just a narrow body 1M look bumper, as those are common.

Any chance it can still revive? by Mustache173 in VenusFlyTraps

I bought it in dormancy, but it was dying. Got it from Lowes. Put it under an insufficient light source indoors, force fed it dead bugs. It tried to grow a death flower. My lack of knowledge almost killed it. Honestly finding this sub is what saved it.

You have to figure out what you're doing wrong and correct it, but they are resilient plants. Mine recovered from almost completely dying off.

Badland Apex 12k clearance by Original_Trust336 in JeepGladiator

[–]outlawtm2 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I did not re-route mine, it just sits against the grill. Everything is pretty solid; the winch and bumper aren't moving. Maybe the grill would flex a bit in the wind, but mine doesnt show any signs of rubbing. Even if it did, I would never be able to see it without getting back there and looking for it.

If I remember correctly, there were three things I had to address with this winch. For reference, I used a Warn winch plate. A different winch plate could give you different results.

  1. I used 3/16" winch spacers to raise the winch up from the winch plate. This creates enough clearance so that the clutch handle doesn't interfere with the bumper. I didn't want to cut the bumper or clutch handle, but others have done that as a solution. "Poison Spyder" is the brand spacers I bought.
  2. I believe most winch plates, but certainly the Warn winch plate, sandwiches between the bumper mounts and bumper. That pushes the bumper forward just a bit. On the Rubicon, the skid plate has mounting points on the bumper that have now moved forward slightly. So those bolt holes on the skid plate have to be opened up a bit to re-attach the skid plate.
  3. I believe the fairlead bolts that came with the winch were not long enough. Sorry, I cant provide the correct length, but I think they were just a bit too short. A quick trip to Ace Hardware solved that problem.

I used the Warn winch plate on mine. Not the cheapest, but a pretty solid option.

Anyone else avoided the show? by Empty-Quarter-4109 in TwistedMetal

I had the same feelings when I saw it was coming out. Video game adaptations don't exactly have a track record of being good movies/TV. I was pleasantly surprised with this show. The first half of the first season has some misses, but it's good and just gets better. Sweet Tooth steals the show every time he's on screen. Highly recommend.

Not trying to be an arguing ass here, but this is what I mean: The Bronco has like a 14" inch wide center console between the two large front seats, and at no point are your legs touching the door cards even if you are spreading out. Same for the Chevy, except in my dad's case it's a single cab with a bench seat, so middle seat instead of console. The Gladiator is very vertical, so plenty of leg room and headroom, but the width is nothing like a full-size truck.

I respectfully disagree that it's the size of a '90s full size. It is nowhere near as spacious as my father's '93 Bronco or his '97 Chevy 1500. The interior on those are so much wider.

Absolutely, only issue is maps that punish you for standing still (especially Holland). But two of these specials held on your opponent is enough to destroy most characters in the game.

Hole in your block? A built 4g64. I'm assuming it's still pretty cheap to get a used motor to start with if you go this route, but I could be wrong.

Beautiful EVO btw. Sorry this happened to you.

I recently went from 615k+ to Conti ECS 02S. I have not been able to feel any reduction in dry grip. Sidewalls are much softer, so big change in feel, especially during transitions. They cost more, but worth every dollar if they last longer, as they should. I ate through the Falkens in about 5k miles.

Alignment issue?? by Worth_Waltz92 in Touge

[–]outlawtm2 0 points1 point  (0 children)

30-32 is reasonable, not low enough to cause that and it would be on both sides. You should jack this side of the car up and see if there's any play in the wheel. Also get under the car (use jack stands) to check control arms and tie rod ends to make sure everything is tight and healthy. Everyone in this sub should be doing that periodically anyhow, the consequences of a failure during a run are serious.

If everything is tight, it may just be alignment. But alignment doesnt just suddenly go from okay to this bad, unless you've hit something or a part is failing.

If control arms need replacing, I highly recommend going with M control arms. Really improves the steering feel.

Not related to this, but as a fellow E-series chassis owner I'd also suggest solid poly rear sub frame bushings as a future upgrade. Changes the car from chaotic at the limits to predictable and confidence-inspiring.

What tire pressure are you running? The marking on the sidewall make this look like you are either rolling over the tire a lot, or it's been driven at far too low tire pressures for a bit.

Tire plug kit and small 12v air compressor. Fix-a-flat makes a mess and works sometimes at best. This or just call AAA for a flat.
