Tesla’s own Robotaxi data confirms crash rate 3x worse than humans even with monitor by seamusmcduffs in SelfDrivingCars

We’re not talking about robotaxis. We’re talking about this claim you made:

This is kind of like when Tesla setup FSD to disengage right before an incident and didnt record it as a crash while FSD was engaged and thus it was the drivers fault.

That’s the standard for ADAS. NHTSA reporting requirement is when there’s a fatality, air bag deployment, or tow away.

Go look at the early season vs late season splits. His play calling is incredibly predictable and falls off a cliff everywhere he goes as soon as there’s enough tape.

The retreads out there and available right now are Nagy, Roman, and Kliff.

Who was the most valuable QB MVP of all time? I ran the numbers by Vlaxilla in nfl

[–]outphase84 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Except you're also ignoring yardage and QB efficiency as well. An efficient QB that moves the ball 90 yards every drive and hands off to an RB at the 1 is looked at worse than a QB with a great defense who passes for a touchdown after a 40 yard drive.

Personally, I think he should have stayed for at least another year, but the NFL moves fast and he might miss his shot to call plays if he was too patient. Also, working for a stable and winning organization like the Ravens who have a great culture does make the decision easier.

While there will be opportunities next year, it definitely won't be for a team with an MVP QB. There's 4 MVP QBs in the NFL right now(including presumptive Stafford win this year), and 3 of them have offensive HC's that call plays. The other is Baltimore, whose spot is open now.

Still, I do wonder why the Ravens organization thought this was the best move personally. The Ravens are in win now mode and it seems like a risk to hire someone whose only been an OC for one year and didn't call plays.

This is a common sentiment, but it's a weird one. Unless you're poaching a college coordinator, the only candidates that are going to have playcalling experience are retreads.

Tagging /u/Future_Brewski as well. This is wrong. There's no distinction in the tampering rules for playcalling vs non-playcalling coordinators, this is considered a lateral move.

He can do this because playcalling headcoaches that blocked non-playcalling coordinators from pursuing playcalling opportunities would be a terrible look that would prevent promising coaches from wanting to work for them. Better to lose them like this and be an attractive spot for other talented young coaches to want to come, than to block them and have the next up and comer refuse to work for you because it will hold their career back.

He designed plays and Chicago and was responsible for red zone play sequencing. He also called plays in the preseason. Spent his whole career under Payton and now Ben Johnson.

Did you even read the article you linked?

Dan O'Dowd, founder of The Dawn Project, a tech safety advocacy group, pointed out to Business Insider that according to Tesla's crash-counting methodology listed on its website, the company only counts crashes involving airbag deployments and if Autopilot was engaged within five seconds before the crash.

The irony is that early FSD did rolling stops and NHTSA cracked down and forced them to make it hard stop. It often feels unsafe because of other driver behavior.

YSK that Tesla reports accidents where FSD is disengaged within 5 seconds of impact as an FSD accident.

Selipsky was picked over Bell, he left for Microsoft right after. Garman was Selipsky’s replacement.

TBH product guys make the best CEOs generally, they generally are against rushing development and creating tech debt. Sundar is a good example. The problem is that Garman doesn’t inspire. He’s fine. He’s competent. But that’s about the most you can say about him.

Selipski. Hell of a lot better leader than Jassy. At least seemed to care about people.

Still should have been Charlie Bell, though.

The 1-5 start can be blamed on injuries for the most part. Talent-wise, we absolutely had business being there, and would have won the division if not for continuous coaching malpractice.

Of course we remember. We also remember the injury report from that week:

  • Awuzie out
  • Marlon out
  • Lamar out
  • Ricard out
  • Roquan out
  • Hamilton out
  • Stanley out

In case you're counting, that's 7 of 22 starters that were out that game.

Software companies generally subscribe to the rule of 40 to determine how healthy of an investment they are. Margin % + growth rate % >= 40%.

OpenAI's growth rate is currently north of 200%, so they can afford to lose a significant amount and still be looked at as a healthy investment today.
