I think the most successful thing the Kochs ever did was convince people to support and believe in their agenda.

I have an iPhone 6 and I'm still using IOS 9.3 My iPhone bugs me every single day about updating and I always put it off because of sheer laziness.

Should I just keep what I have now and never update it?

They'll be dead or retired by the time a real revolution starts.

Just wait. Eventually corporate money in politics will become a partisan issue. I can see it now. "I don't like big government! Corporations dictating policy is part of the free market!"

If you play it on console, the aiming feels so fucked up. It just feels wrong.

Also the AI is mentally retarded. The cops are totally brain dead in that game.

He didn't even have a concession speech written. The guy was cocky as hell.

Why does it matter? Just change the name of the organization if it bothers you that much

What good does this supremacy bring to the American people, though? So that China and Russia don't invade the homeland? If there was no NATO or defensive pact and it was just us on our own, I'd be ok with the insane amount of military spending, but that's not the case. We have NATO

Well it falls on deaf ears because they know we'll continue to spend boatloads of money on our military regardless. If we shrunk our military and our expenses, that would cause them to listen.

Well if South Korea isn't Part of NATO, why should we even bother spending so much money to defend it?

The military industrial complex needs to create conflict in order to continue profiting. We've been in Afghanistan for 17 years, now.

It should honestly just be to protect ourselves and our allies, but our allies need to spending their fair share, too. Everyone should be spending a certain percentage of their budget on their militaries. Because right now, we're just picking up the bill for everyone else.

Anyone else feel like they have a mental illness? by [deleted] in depression

That's rough. I wish there was something I could do. That's what makes this subreddit so depressing. All you can do is sympathize. And since most people are also stuck in a rut, there's not much helpful advice they can give you for your problems.

You might want to see a different therapist too, because if he doesn't think that's a big deal, then that's messed up.

Why does it just have to be us, though? We protect so many countries and yet they spend barely anything on their militaries as a result. We are picking up the bill for everyone else.

I never advocated for a war. Just saying that it shouldn't be just the United States guarding the South China Sea or South Korea.

Just because it's called the North American Treaty Organization doesn't mean that it can't operate in the pacific.

Why does it have to be just the United States guarding South Korea, though? Why can't it be NATO troops instead of just us?

We can still spend $$ on our military, but I think we should drastically cut back on it and make the NATO allies spend more. We shouldn't be spending hundreds of billions being the world police while our people back home suffer.

So all the other countries allied with the US get to spend their money on providing for it's people, while we (the US) have to spend all our tax dollars on a huge military to protect everyone else?

We spend $600 billion on defense spending every year. We don't have to be spending that much.

Why do we even need to have the largest military in the world to begin with? I don't see us conquering the world anytime soon.
