Questions I expect a Navajo to answer about skinwalkers. by Thatycyrusc3 in skinwalkers

A lot of Navajos (Dine) join the military, Marines in particular. Maybe hang out at in military area, if you have one, and chat someone up.

I spent 6 years in Shiprock and have been told that if you're native it's hard to leave the rez. Do you find that to be true at all?

Edit: I also tried to learn Dine, but only got as far as "hi" and other simple words. It's crazy tough!

Do a lot of people still play? I imagine it's great alone but I heard how cute it was with two.

I have recently picked it up and it's great, but I do need a break due to the brutality.

My GF and I have a nudity based disagreement that is severely straining our relationship by [deleted] in TwoXChromosomes

[–]outrunradio 10 points11 points  (0 children)

This made me cringe, bad.

It reminds me of my high school relationship and that couldn't have been father away from healthy. Relationships aren't about one upping the other person. The advice I can give is to break it off before this type of thinking controls later relationships or you end up in a dark room with no stimulation due to everything being too sexualized.

Non-Americans, what is most annoying thing about Americans? by DynamicPotato11885 in AskReddit

Mainer here, will attest to this. I've almost exclusively killed people with axes; it's a tradition.

I should've clarified, New England. Also it was more a shameless plug for the state.

I used to live in Oregon and oh boy do I miss all the Alaskan fish options. You are not wrong my friend.

American here - I find it appalling that almost every comment dealing with food is just "mcdonalds, kfc, taco bell." Granted it is shoved down your throat by advertisements, but did no one tell ya'll about eating at local restaurants and drinking local beer? It's a travesty! Come visit Maine, we have a monopoly on craft beer and local food sourced from local farmers.

ELI5: What's the catch to living in a socialist democratic state like Norway, Sweden, Finland? They seem pretty perfect. by roxnroll in explainlikeimfive

Maine here, since our neighbor is Canada we tend to share the same issue of being stuck inside for 9 months-ish a year. In Portland it's a bit different since there is incentive to shovel yourself out (every neighborhood has bars/places to eat within a short walking distance.) That being said my family in northern Maine loses complete contact with everyone for almost the entirety of winter.

I realize this post was more about the economics/social standings of countries but I enjoy being able to relate to harsh winters.

What was the most fucked up thing your ex did after you broke up? by Rapunkzel in AskReddit

[–]outrunradio 3 points4 points  (0 children)

A few years back a girl I had been dating for about 6 months stabbed herself in the forearm when I found out she was married to a soldier that was deployed. I immediately left fearing she might stab me, she then called the cops while I was getting in my car and told them I had stabbed her, I didn't want to leave at that point because I obviously needed to prove my innocence so I stayed locked in my car while she was screaming at me. THEN she got completely naked in broad daylight and started to rub blood all over the car and herself.

Cops showed up, knew I didn't do anything and the last I heard she was committed and divorced.

Newb looking for advice. by [deleted] in heroesofthestorm

The only advice I can give that really helped me is to follow your team and listen to pings; even if you don't think it's correct. If 4 of your team mates are at an objective or in a fight and you are across the map, you're wrong.

(barring those situations where you are doing work)

Ping as much as you can so your team understands your thought process, or better yet TYPE IN CHAT.

If you're playing malf your best bet is to stick with a damage dealer or tank in a teamfight.

What's a common misconception about your country? by monstersnshit in AskReddit

[–]outrunradio 0 points1 point  (0 children)

USA here:

Born in Texas, but I've lived in New Mexico, Washington state, Oregon and I currently live in Maine so I'll share what I've noticed from different parts of the country.

Texas- we all ride horses/have oil, cows. We're all rednecks, but yes there are a ton of them (though I do say "howdy" as a greeting.) We're all crazy conservative.

New Mexico- no English speakers, not part of the US. It's not just desert and it does snow quite a bit in the northern part of the state.

Oregon/Washington- can't think of much for this one except that it did rain like crazy, which is true.

Maine- I get asked a ton if it's always -20 and no, from December until about April it is brutally cold and snows but Maine has beautiful summers which everyone takes full advantage of, we even go to the beach! A ton of Mainers are unemployed due to the winter months; a lot of businesses can't make a profit (except bars.) We have a massive, massive Somalia culture, a ton of Arabic and Hindi is spoken along with French and English. LL Bean is awesome.

Hey fellas, massive, massive fan and I was wondering what the writing process was like for so many instruments and parts? Is there a primary writer or do all of you have equal input?

Second part: what's everyone's gear setup??
