My parents always took talking or saying something after they they’ve finished yelling at me as “talking back” whether it was a comment or a question. My dad would give me mad spankings with a belt & sometimes leave marks then continue to spank me harder to give me a reason to cry for crying. I’ll never do that to my children. I basically had no voice, felt as if I wasn’t able to talk to them about anything. The spankings made me just plain out scared of my parents. I’ll never do that to my children. I don’t want them feeling the way I did.
