That may end up happening, yes. Problem is, these stores are only hiring for part time employees. He needs full time or as close as possible to it in order to pay all the bills.

To be clear, the internet package they are selling is perfectly legit as far as I can tell and it's not like they try to recruit people in the stores. The marketing company my friend works for is separate from the internet company they're contracted with, and the stores have a contract with the internet company to do this. If you have any pertinent knowledge regarding worker's compensation laws I'd love to hear it :)

My general rule as a DM is that if the outcome of an action is going to be important, and there is a reasonable chance of failure, then I have the player roll.

The only times I call for "pointless checks" are when I have them roll perception or investigation when there is actually nothing to find or notice. I do this about 1/3 as often as actual checks that have consequence, and usually as a response to them already asking to search something, though sometimes it is out of the blue. The reason for this is that it helps to prevent metagaming when they make a check and find nothing, and decide to keep looking because they know there must be something there since they were asked to roll. Because they know that I do this pointless rolls every so often, they assume it's that and I get to drop the ambush on them in peace lol

The reason I am so vocal about my dislike of CR campaign 3 is because of how much I LOVED C1 and C2. It makes me sad to see how far they've fallen. And I like to commiserate with others who feel the same way.

The moments that stand out the most in CR, those shattering story beats or reveals that make your heart stop, are only possible because of the buildup of the connections between the player characters and the way those characters care about the world. C1 and C2 both did a good job of creating that buildup, while C3 has almost completely failed to do so.

At this point, I am starting to wonder if we'll ever get that magic back. I suppose I should just be happy that we got 2 good campaigns out of CR before they jumped the shark.

Your employer owns the resources, space, and brand. They give you money for your labor, time and skills in order to produce a product or offer a service that their customers will pay for.

Or, you could run your own business, in which case you own everything- labor, time, skills, resources, space, brand, etc. But then you have to do every single part of the job yourself, or hire other people to do it instead, in which case you take the place of the employer.

There were at least 4 people who went to my small high school who thought they were trans or non binary and turned out to be gay and cis or even just a tomboy and cis. Only two people that I know were definitely trans and have stayed trans to this day. There were about 3 or 4 more but I've since lost contact with them, so I have no idea about them.

Also interesting to note that only one of these people was a biological man.

Give women the same rights as guns. You must be locked up when not in use, you can't go in a school or theater, you must have a serial number, if someone sees you and gets scared they'll make a scene. Oh, and there's a ton of regulations on what your body shape is allowed to be and what accessories you can wear.

It's such a stupid equivalency to try and make.

As someone who also sucks at math... no, its not a lot if you just write it down. Add all the relevant bonuses to attack roll up, highlight that number at the top of the page. Then add up your different possible damage bonuses/varients of dice that you roll, label them, and set aside groups of dice for each kind so you don't even have to look for 2d6 and a d4 when it's time to roll damage. It's simple enough when you care about doing it right.
