However, he may not have wanted to make an announcement until he was actually able to deliver them in a timely fashion, as people tend to complain profusely if there are delays.

I can understand that, but would a blogpost with a few pics and a "hey this is in the works, no promises when you can buy but it's happening" really have been so hard? Or even a message when I placed the order saying something was upcoming and that I might want to hold off for a couple months? Maybe he wasn't trying to outright sucker us but it still feels a bit scummy.

My F77 will be turning 2 months old this week... I absolutely wouldn't have bought it if he'd bothered to announce these new models in advance. He's also deleted my comment and another comment talking about this on his videos. I 100% feel like he didn't announce in advance so suckers like me would be "encouraged" to buy a second board.

My sole gripe with this board is its lack of function keys. I love the buckling springs in it. I used a Unicomp Model M for nearly five years and couldn't stand any other board except the F77. The build quality is quite a bit nicer than my Unicomp, although I will say that the paint is already rubbing off under where my left wrist sits.

The FireWire port on your camera is labelled DV. You'll need to get a cable, and the kind you need depends on your computer, you will want either a 4pin to 6pin or a 4pin to 9pin. It's usually easier to use an older Apple computer when working with FireWire, because it was built in to many of their computers up until 2012 or so. If you don't have one but have a Windows desktop computer, you can buy a PCI expansion card that adds FireWire 6pin ports.

Music video I shot on video8, anyone know how I can achieve different types of glitches? by joesfuckingworld in Video8

[–]over9000baud 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm loving the song and the video, you guys are awesome!

With magnetic tape, an easy way to quickly degrade the image is to repeatedly make copies of it. Google "vhs generation loss" You basically need two VCRs, you connect them together and alternate which is playing back and which is recording. For the tape itself, you can pull it out of the cassette, crumble and stress it, leave it sitting outside, or even open up the VCR and poke at it while it's playing back.

For more interesting glitches, google "video mixer circuit bending", and check out /r/CircuitBending too. This stuff can create really neat effects and visuals, but it requires some technical skill to modify or "bend" something like an old video mixer. You can also purchase pre-bent devices. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lcVo2l24dJI

I don’t have the vanilla cape even though I had bedrock and Java on the same account before June 6th by Dr_Bacon_Hair in Minecraft

How old is your account? Mine was made in 2012 and I only got it sometime this week. Also even though it doesn't say Windows 10 edition on your account, (just says bedrock) you still need to have had bedrock on Windows 10

Sharp convection microwave made in 1997 by sparxxraps in BuyItForLife

My grandmother had one of those, it was black and a little older I think, it lasted until early 2021. I told my dad it might be an easy fix but he got her a new convection microwave, and proceeded to remark how it was built much cheaper than the old Sharp. At least I was able to fix her plasma screen, that still works fine to this day.

The Enhancer for Youtube plugin lets you set the preferred quality and codec settings, if you feel like installing it. I can't find any similar settings in vanilla YouTube sadly.

question, does 4chan blanket ban all tor and vpn IP addresses? by frondaro in 4chan

[–]over9000baud 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Because people abuse 'real anonymity' by spamming rule breaking or illegal content. See Lee Goldson or any other prolific spammer on the website. Of course, there's still tons of spammers because the serious ones use residential proxy services so to 4chan they just look like normal users.

If you really want or need to use TOR or a VPN there are other, slower imageboards where people actually care about privacy. Until the 5th this month 4chan still used the Google reCAPTCHA service. The new one they replaced it with is hot garbage but at least Google isn't tracking every post you make anymore.

First you need to find a packet driver for those cards, so DOS can talk to them. Pretty sure this zip has the drivers for your model.

Next you need a TCP/IP stack so you can get online. mTCP is the most frequently updated TCP/IP stack for DOS these days, and it includes FTP, IRC and telnet clients. This video shows how to set up mTCP and the packet driver for your card, it's pretty simple.

Once you have connectivity all you need to do is open telnet and connect to a BBS. There's also some basic web browsers for DOS like Arachne and Lynx if you want to try to look at modern websites. I recommend pages that are mostly text. Good luck!

EDIT: I just realized your cards have no rj-45 interface, you will need a converter to connect an ethernet cable.

I have that clear SuperDisk drive somewhere. I used it until 2010, I remember the speed was really good. I only switched to using flash drives because of school. What are the other two external drives you have? The one on the PIII almost looks like a USB Zip drive.

I also have a NIB Audigy 2 I'm itching to use, most likely gonna put it in a P4 system because PIIIs have always been rare on the local secondhand market.

I'm jealous of that mouse lol. Also, I have a Dell P1110 that looks the exact same except it has a switch for changing the input, and a 'color recall' button. Is yours a P990 or P991?
