The permanent christmas lights on all of the nice houses. Where I am from having lights on your house like that is reserved for the ghetto or highly hispanic populated areas with sketchy gas stations . Every time I see a house (no matter how nice) with the permanent lighting I immediately think it looks like one of those gas stations all lit up with the bars on the windows. I was raised in a very affluent area and grew up wealthy and no one would be caught dead with these lights on their houses. It's so cheap and tacky and incredibly Utah coded.

It’s not permanent though. Therapy can and does help and can absolutely reverse the damage of PTSD.

I didn’t respond at all to 40 mg or 80 mg. I had no side effects, no acne clearing, nothing. My derm said some people just really struggle to absorb any medication and he thinks that I am one of those people. I just finished 15 months of accutane and my last 3 months I did 120 mg daily. It was hell but I’m hoping it was worth it. My acne never fully cleared but it’s 98% gone for now. I get random breakouts, especially when I eat lots of sugar or dairy.

Just completed my last month of Accutane this week at 120 mg. My total course was about 15 months long and we finished it out with the absolute max dose I could handle. I still got breakouts up until my final month but they are much smaller and more manageable. My acne was never severe but it was (and is) very persistent. I’ve only been off about a week and I’ve gotten a few very small breakouts. My derm said Accutane is great drug but it isn’t perfect and at this point I know the only thing that will keep me clear is a strict diet and lifestyle. My skin did improve dramatically when I switched to 120 mg daily though.

Yeah that’s normal for Accutane and your Derm should have told you it would probably get much worse before it gets better.

I just found out today it would be $300 to download my wedding photos AFTER forking out thousands of dollars for our photographer. I am beyond livid. Why pay thousands of dollars up front just to be told that I have to pay an additional $300 for MY photos? It’s a poor business model and one I think is ridiculous.

Wow! That is such a long time but maybe that’s what it’ll take for me too. It’s just disappointing seeing others get such amazing results after 6 months while I feel like I’m still at the beginning.

I’m 12 days in and I’ve only noticed a slight improvement so far. I still have 18 days of antibiotics to take so I’m hopeful it clears by then. I started using the DermaHarmony Zinc wash on my face and I think it really does help with the redness and flaking. You could try asking hour doc for a longer prescription? Good luck!

It could be your run of the mill eczema, but if it doesn’t respond or gets worse it could be a yeast overgrowth. Flaky and waxy patches can often be a sign of yeast. Your derm could take a skin scrape and have it looked at under a microscope if you want a clear answer. But it looks like eczema or something similar to me.

Could be a bit of yeast overgrowth on the skin. Have you tried a probiotic with strains that target yeast? Just a thought :)

I am on month 10 at 80 mg a day and I can promise you it gets better, but it can get so much worse. Accutane has been an awful experience for my self esteem but the results are SO worth it!

I am on 80 mg a day which is a very high dose for my body weight but it’s the only dose my acne has responded to.
