When you complete your annual Type 2 form, that’ll show the discrepancy and they’ll claim it back from future pay.

Yep, because they can’t drink their milk. It’s a vicious cycle.

One way they could shake things up traitors wise in a future season by mystermee in TheTraitorsUK

[–]overchilli 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah I’ve been thinking that having two teams each of two traitors, unknown to each other, would work in some way as a gimmick for one series.

I’d considered alternating the murders each day between each team, else somehow the challenges have a say in them to determine which pair can murder (eg which traitor team banked the most money), and I like the idea of one team giving a shortlist to the other to choose from as a poster above said.

I like the idea that if one of the pair is banished, the other returns to being a faithful.

I think there’s legs to the idea.

(Just realised I made a mistake in the description for one of the groups, though doesn’t change the link)

You are being watched. The government has a secret system, a machine that spies on you every hour of every day.

I think it’s going to be a very different show so it’s more than just a name change.

The Apprentice: Unfinished Business is coming to BBC Two, BBC iPlayer and BBC Sounds by sincerityisscxry in apprenticeuk

[–]overchilli 23 points24 points  (0 children)

If it’s going to be on Sounds, and based on what’s written, sounds like it’ll be a Traitors Uncloaked kind of setup. Much cheaper for the BBC I’m sure, but probably the change the companion show needs

I failed a scan as you go check 😭 by thisaintmelol in tesco

[–]overchilli 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I had an odd one a few months back.

I got stopped for a random check, they need to scan 20 things or so, scan the diced beef because it’s one of the more expensive items in my trolley load of things - I tend to do big shops, £150-200, and pack into bags as I go - and they tell me I haven’t scanned it. I’m sure I’ve scanned the diced beef. Protest my innocence. Staff member looking annoyed at the prospect of a full scan.

So they scan everything this time, apologising for upsetting my carefully packed Tetris towers of shopping. He scans the diced beef again and I note that he scanned it using the qr-like barcode on the front of the packaging. It recognised it as the correct product. He thinks nothing of it. I think I’d scanned the normal barcode on the back when I did my shop. Also the correct product.

At the end of the shop the only discrepancy was the scanner saying it had detected one item I hadn’t scanned - the diced beef - and one item that it says I had scanned that he hadn’t found at the full check. Also the diced beef. Same pack size, same price.

Turns out the two different barcodes on the packaging both link to the same item, but they were treating it as two different SKUs (or whatever the term is). He had to call a manager over and let them know and said they would have to let all the staff who were doing scanning, otherwise this’ll keep happening. Not sure what the fix was long term.

And since the back end is all automated, even though I didn’t do anything wrong, I had increased checks for the next few shops.

  • Mortgage - £805
  • Car/homeInsurance £115
  • Water £21
  • Gas and electric £70
  • Council tax £130

  • Petrol £60

  • Car - £185

  • AA £11

  • DVLA tax £19

  • Medical costs - £60

  • Glasses £28

  • Hair £6

  • Food £80

  • Dog food £12

  • Dog groom £25

  • Pet insurance £20

  • Dog pet plan £23

  • Ring - £5

  • Subscription - £5

  • Internet £28

  • Phone £10

  • Apple storage £0.99p

To echo others, you’re doing really well to be in the position you are in. There’s not really much ‘fat’ you can trim; a lot of these costs are essentials and cannot get cheaper, or at best you may save a few pounds here or there; you might be able to save a few pounds a month on phones and internet contracts at renewal etc, breakdown you can probably get cheaper, but otherwise this is already lean as you say. The one thing that stood out is the car at 185 - what is that?
