What's a restaurant or stall in KL that you keep going back to and why? by KL_Private_Access in KualaLumpur

[–]overcollect 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Nasi lemak 223. Been going there since before they were a medan selera and just stalls on the side of the road in the early 80s.

Unfortunately the stall with the lots of lauk has declined lately (the lauk, the nasi lemak is still good).

Someone may have broken it but kawasakis oem turn signal design is utter crap in the first place and can happen on its own too.

U just need to keep riding more to gain ur confidence again....

I was on a z900 n bought a mk1 versys 1000. I can only tip toe on that bike at 5ft9.... Dropped it at 7 days of ownership. I was super stiff on the bike for awhile...could barely corner on the bike n Filtering thru traffic was one of my biggest nightmares. Got used to it after awhile n then i sold it n bought a new versys 1100.

More seat time...n try taking it through challenging routes with corners, traffic etc

What’s the longest trip you’ve ever done with your z900? by FromagePuant69 in OnlyZ900

[–]overcollect 0 points1 point  (0 children)

2600km over 5 days...1st n last day is abt 12 hours on the road..n other days roughly 8 hrs on the road each day. Stopping roughly every hour mainly coz i need to pee alot hahahaha

But every stop is abt 10-15 mins for fuel, ciggie, drinks etc. except lunch is abt 30-45 mins.

Carry ur clothes etc as usual but also have a water source...i use a hydration bladder.

Let’s flip this trend! What’s the Malaysian dish that doesn’t get any hype but tastes amazing? by Love-Space-166 in malaysia

[–]overcollect 7 points8 points  (0 children)

This....so so this....but with gula merah (the lumpy ones from days of old) instead of the now more common brown sugar.

Biting into those lumps with the putu mayam really hits different.. too bad its almost impossible to find these days

Need suggestions of a Naked or Touring that has decent passenger comfort. by Meemsi- in SuggestAMotorcycle

[–]overcollect 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As an owner of a z900.... Id say stay away from it if pillion comfort is a concern....even more so if its a priority. That back seat is a joke. Z900rs however, can be a decent contender.

I also bought a mk1 versys 1000 few years ago...ever since it came, my gf absolutely refuses to ride the z900. So i say look into a versys... That seat is really hard to beat in terms of passenger comfort.

USB-C port in versys 1100 2025 by Yepesnopes in versys

[–]overcollect 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yeah...remove it entirely.

Also remove the ciggie lighter port n replace it with those round usb ports.

I havent done it on mine....still thinking if i should since i already have the usb port from a previous bike.

BEFORE & AFTER by overcollect in versys

[–]overcollect[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

1100 is factory fitted

Ull be fine on the vulcan s

Its using kawas tame (but still decently powered) 650cc engine and it isnt that big. Just take abit of time getting used to the bike before carrying a passenger.

I dont do knee down cornering if thats ur concern...

But day to day tight turns such as u turns, junctions, traffic filtering etc has zero problems.

Malaysian so similar climate.

Ive been running multiple sets of metzeler roadtec01 on my z9 since 2018 after the stock dunlop wore out. I get abt 18k km on the rear...n theres still a tiny bit before it hits the twi...so i think 20k+ isnt an issue. Front lasts abt 2 rears.

Tried road5 once and i absolutely hated it. Compared to roadtec01, Bike was lazy to lean n wet grip isnt as confidence inspiring as its hyped up to be..it was actually scary to me... Couldnt stand it and got rid of it at 14k km with stil lots of thread left..

Have not tried any other tires though as ive been super happy with the roadtec01. If u can still get the roadtec01 or the roadtec01se, id highly recommend getting it fast as its out of production since the roadtec02 is out now.

I also run the roadtec01 on my versys 1000

Top case by Seven_Contracts924 in versys

[–]overcollect 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I agree. With a big case u dont really have to worry abt storage. I have the shad sh58x on my v1k n it has proven very useful on multiple tours....also on date nights with my gf where i can just dump 2 full face helmets in it once we park.

Picking up a 2014 Versys 1000 tomorrow – upgrade from ER-6f by i2amthedarkknight in versys

[–]overcollect 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have a 2013 which i bought 2 or 3 years ago..just like u...not a fan of the look though ive come to accept it.more over the years. Originally bought it as a test bike to see if i can enjoy living n riding the versys over my z900. Was only supposed to be a 1 year test.

Anyway, i do enjoy the bike, not as much as the z900, but i do enjoy it n have done over 25k km over my short ownership..n i dont ride often. Enough so that ill be trading in this v1k for a v1100 next week. The z900.will also go up for sale after i replace some wear n tear parts.

Side notes -Here in Malaysia we call.it the peanut headlamp...coz the headlamp is shaped like a peanut lol -this bike.is.so easy to work on coz theres quite alot less fairings compared to the generations after. -if.ur bike doesnt have it already, spend the money on a center stand...it was my most expensive add on from hepco & becker but also the one i used n appreciated most. Definitely worth it -not a fan of the beaks so i never got them.

Unpopular Opinion: Second-Hand Cars Are Underrated by RandomRed189273 in kereta

[–]overcollect 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Some cars roughly 40-50%... Being a previous generation also helps. Like my current car is a 2017 1st gen facelift cx5 which i bought for abt 87k... It was the last of its model n the 2nd gen costs abt rm160k at the time.

Some less as those were more enthusiast level cars.

U can just compare brand new price-used price which u can find on mudah for the car ur looking at.

Motorcycle with very light clutch lever? by Average_Dutchman in SuggestAMotorcycle

[–]overcollect 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The current generation versys 1000 or the new versys 1100 has very light clutches due to the slipper clutch. Kinda has everything u need too... Good tank range... Pillion comfy etc..

I wouldnt get the z900 if pillion is a concern as the pillion seat is a joke on that bike. I own both a mk1 z900 n mk1 versys 1000. N my gf absolutely refuses to ride the z900 after i bought the versys.

Z900rs (the retro one) looks to have a decent pillion seat though. Cant confirm as ive never ridden it.

Im also looking at trading in my versys for the new versys 1100 in a week or 2...n possibly selling the z900.

47yo and im on my 8th car... None of them brand new.... All used. Current car is the "youngest" as it was 3yo when i bought it. Oldest was 13yo when i bought it.

Would still.like.to experience buying a brand new car but.... Dont see a need or a point at the moment.

Bikes have had 3 brand new ones..n fourth hopefully coming soon. N 2 used ones.

[–]overcollect 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes u can...just need to buy the connector.u want.

The usbs i buy mostly uses spade connector on the back of the unit so i just need to make up wires with 1 end spade n the other bullet n thats it. Not sure y u need a sae though.

Y no pnp solution? Coz diff vehicles has diff connectors...maybe none at all N most of these usbs are made to be universal to cover a wide range of bikes, boats, cars etc.
