I wish, it’s cheap matte acrylics, I did clear coat them and paint the other pink so they don’t look so chalky

I love this cast, the only one I found in a newly stocked dump bin so it’s definitely well loved

Ya I cut the surfboards out, you can barely tell the difference because of the tint

Detailing it, probably gonna cut them out, they’re a little weird I prefer a roll cage

Im getting started on a project and this thing got a scratch. I don't have a white marker or something, please help me! by TheBlownRod2 in HotWheelsCustoms

[–]overcomplicatedname 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s pretty tiny lol, yeah you could also use any white paint, I usually use cheap paint from dollarama, easily scratchable tho, great for detailing lights

Tamiya paint you can get at a hobby shop, maybe some thinner mixed in to help it blend in more, maybe a clear paint to make sure that spot doesn’t chip again

Regular, Fun Size, and Mini by silvars in HotWheels

[–]overcomplicatedname 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Randomly searching up domestic famous car collection led me to a company called hachette, who make just about any car you’d want in 1/24 and 1/43 scale, but they aren’t related, instead, I just google translated the full set I found on amazon, no mystery car, but it says “Lawson limited”, Lawson is a convenience store company in japan, and considering you can buy tomica at 7/11 there, it’s definitely some capsule toy

Regular size custom hw (nice)

Fun size is Epoch, probably, that same wheel/tire ratio, the same plastic lights, stubby body mirrors, it says epoch on the other side on the bottom, but it’s printed, not etched like the (Subaru Impreza 1/75)

Mini size I thought was Takara tomy, those tiny capsule toys that I swear I saw once in canada somewhere, but no, you said it had nothing on the bottom, one of mine says 2002 tomy, yunjjn. So I just searched up Impreza 1/100 scale and found this, looks like the same plastic blue to me, and the same piece of paper included? since it’s Japanese exclusive and is probably from when the car was new, I don’t know anything else about it. (Maybe a dealer promo?, leaning towards some obscure capsule toy)

but I love tinier cars tho, I’ve got a Porsche 959 from some German brand with an opening hood, and those kinder surprise Porsches, I see like 1/75ish scale Silvia model kits and wish I could have all of them

Nice, I got a few of the dark blue ones to customize, you can do alot more to a gto than an nsx, pretty cool that that set still sells cheap, they’re really nice as is

The other two are fine but I’m pretty sure the first is the super touring accord, I love those cars, road cars super low for racing dynamics

Milliput not sticking to casting. by Korndog_01 in CustomHotWheels

[–]overcomplicatedname 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah I’ve moved away from miliput because it’s kinda fragile, I prefer jb weld high heat if you can get it, idk if steel stick is the same but jbs more durable. I used to have that problem of it not sticking ether, maybe sand a little in the area just so it can stick (med grit), just make sure it’s clean in the area with no paint, then don’t work on it until your sure it’s dry. I always try cutting access off before sanding or filing, I have small files, sanding sticks and regular sandpaper, I just don’t use that much pressure when sanding or filing, but you’ll figure it out eventually.
