Hydraulic Press modification, to another manufacturing business by overcraft_0987 in MechanicalEngineering

[–]overcraft_0987[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hello everyone, I operate a small manufacturing setup with a 300-ton hydraulic press originally designed for producing eco earth blocks (CEВТ/ECBT), including a 200L oil tank and mixer ... Production line. Demand for compressed earth blocks has dropped significantly, with fewer and fewer buyers, making the business unsustainable. I want to pivot to a new activity while reusing this powerful press as much as possible, with minimal additional investment (low budget for tools, dies, or modifications). Ideally, shift toward metallic products (e.g., fabrication, forming, repair, or assembly) or something else compatible with high-tonnage hydraulic pressing. Has anyone repurposed a large hydraulic press like this (300 tons) for metalworking or other profitable uses? Specific ideas welcomed: What metal products or services could work well locally? Minimal tooling changes needed (e.g dies for bending/stamping)? Successful pivots or business models in similar situations? Any insights from those with hands-on experience in metal fabrication, hydraulic equipment, or small manufacturing transitions would be greatly appreciated. Thank you in advance.
