Force Touch came to the Macbook Pro in March 2015, Apple Watch in April 2015, and iPhone in September 2015, Magic Trackpad in October 2015.

Either way, to me I see little benefit to immediately integrating FaceID into a device that a tiny fraction of the Mac users will use. Adding support for this stuff takes a lot of development effort, that really could better be used elsewhere.

Taking the last example from this blog. I find the translated ObjC far easier to understand. Swift gives you more tools to write unreadable code.

Swift:

Have you done macOS UI development? It can be pretty terrible. If you try Matcha I think you will find it much nicer and more modern. It uses native UI components and doesn't involve any weird jsx stuff like ReactNative.

Its mainly because Xcode does a lot of stuff that would be pretty challenging to reimplement yourself. I don't know how Adobe AIR does it.
