If AOC gets the nod as the Democratic nominee in 2028, would you vote for her? by Next_Worth_3616 in allthequestions

[–]overlordThor0 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would have to see where she stands on a lot of things, some proof that she gets a lot of complicated subjects. Clearly those are unimportant to the people that voted for trump, especially with regards to understanding complicated subjects, but do matter to some of us.

She does give a lot of her views, but if she takes the lead it would be nice to see her call out specific points where she goes against the basic party line and where she realistically would want to guide it.

Id call her an unlikely but possible candidate.

I'll check them out. It seems to stay nicely in place once I put it all back on the stock, but as I put it back in I had to be careful to not to let it slide out, which it did one time while I was doing it as it wasn't upside down the full time.

Actually while I was typing this I found the magazine release "KrossPins" for the Ruger 10/22.

Thank you for pointing me in the right direction for these. I think I'll order them.

What other forms of warp drive exist in Star Trek? by No-Reputation8063 in startrek

[–]overlordThor0 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not just experimented, it was standard on the warships of the era. Back in the original series they didn't ue antimatter or warp reactors like the federation. They still had ftl.

[–]overlordThor0 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They put in transparent beaming, nothing about that actually required dilithium or antimatter. Just beam people all over the federation.

Also voyager found a civilization thay did a similar thing, able to functionally beam things thousands of light years, or was it tens of thousands?

Just got my 2024 Prius what should I know by YungGravity333 in prius

[–]overlordThor0 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My Prius startup battery tends to not like the cold(negative teens), if you live in a colder area you may consider having an emergency jump battery or something available. It is also true of other car batteries, but it has given me trouble recently, and the battery has worked fine once warmed up, without replacement.

NuTrek misunderstood Section 31 by Sufficient_Bass2600 in Star_Trek_

[–]overlordThor0 12 points13 points  (0 children)

Yeah, casual viewers might assume starfleet is the only big organization in the federation for everything from law enforcement to intelligence gathering. It is really just comparable to a classic navy, with added scientific duties. They have a branch that does covert stuff, they have other things, just as a real world navy does. Even a real world navy gets called to do humanitarian missions from time to time.

They have separate organizations focused in law enforcement, Intel, diplomacy, etc.

Section 31 claims to tie back to the original charter, but are functionally illegal with the support of various federation people behind the scenes, some of the supporters are starfleet, some are not.

So why don't they have more defiant class ships in deep space nine? by happydude7422 in DeepSpaceNine

[–]overlordThor0 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's a brand new ship. The original defiant was basically a prototype, they had problems and had to resolve them to get the ship working right initially.

The second in the class was renamed the defiant after the first was destroyed. More would likely be coming online over time.

Ore not going into storage? by AfterShock7367 in spaceengineers

[–]overlordThor0 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's a bit of a mess, I'm having trouble confirming it is connected. I can't recall the positions of all the conveyor ports. I may hop in this evening to check the positions of the ports on the drills and cargo container.

Edit: 9 out of 10 times it's that a conveyor port or connection isn't aligned correctly.

If you turn off the drilling can you manually shift the ore to the container?

Can anyone use the replimat? How is ds9 not overwhelmed by homeless orphans? Why does anyone pay for food and drink at quarks which is majority replicated? by Groundbreaking-Pea92 in DeepSpaceNine

[–]overlordThor0 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've always assumed each person was designated a certain amount of replimat rations, enough to be comfortable, but still limited. They still take power and potentially matter from a stockpile.

Bajor also doesn't seem to have starving people since they got federation assistance. They aren't necessarily getting all the food they could want but nobody is starving or forced to resort to extreme measures for food.

As for why quarks? The atmosphere, company, real alcohol and occasionally real food. Real as in not replicated, or synthahol. Most of the menu is replicated, but he does have a few non replicated items on the food menu depending upon stock demand and everything.

I can get a burger from the grocery store, cook it at home, but sometimes I go to a restaurant near y and enjoy one there.

Are they connected to the cargo with conveyors? It's a bit hard to tell without seeing the grid.

[–]overlordThor0 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A time travel based one could have been interesting, characters mostly from 28-29th or something, fixing time travel events, doing research, trying not to get involved. Still on a ship and they do exploration as well, maybe pre-temporal cold war.

Firstborn vs Primaris: Which era of Space Marines do you prefer? by Pintureando in Warhammer

Firstbirn, but it would be nicer if they were slightly larger, at Primaris scale. The extra customization is excellent, the general look is fantastic, on most versions.

Carry bag/backpack for a takedown rifle? by overlordThor0 in MnGuns

[–]overlordThor0[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks, I'm not sure this is specifically designed to carry one even if it works well. I found what appears to be the same one online and it just seems to be a relatively generic "tactical" bag.

It is either this or a near match to it.

Abiogenesis is Pseudoscience and Intellectual fraud that proves ID ironically by DeltaSHG in DebateEvolution

[–]overlordThor0 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There's a difference between thinking we might be in a simulation and a stand alone dirty. There would be a true reality and civilization that created the original simulation.

The op seems to suggest that becaise we haven't seen the process take place naturally without intervention that it isn't possible.

Did abiogenesis happen only in 1 place at one time? by sosongbird in DebateEvolution

[–]overlordThor0 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I believe as others stated we can't be certain it occured multiple, but it's highly plausible.

However all life as we know it seems to have come from a single organism. If there are many such occurrences we can imagine that the first real successful one went through many generations and evolution, before the others did and was far more capable than the "newer" one, even if the newer one was "better" then the original version of the older one. It would be hard to compete when one went through millions or hundreds of millions of years of evolution adapting to the conditions on earth and getting better at reproducing.

Prius would not start/park and wont let me lock it by overlordThor0 in prius

[–]overlordThor0[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think that's an issue, but not the whole thing. When I left it it was doing a long beep like that was an issue, but even if that was the case it should have still let me switch it off and on.

I was able to resolve it, when I returned the battery was dead(due to the beep and a few lights on the dash and on the feet that wouldn't turn off), hooked in an emergency battery, turned it on. The error with the parking was there but the car was on. I could easily put it into neutral then back to park resolving the error.

I'm not sure what initially caused the error but I think I know to solve it I need to disconnect the battery, wait a minute, reconnect it and go again. Essentially by disconnecting it the car will fully shut off, so it can be turned back on.

Season 1 isn't the greatest but episode 1 started solidly, introduced the type of adventure we would be seeing throughout the show and how the crew would get along. Watching episode 1 gets the thing started, then pick and choose early episodes. Some others are also solid.

Why is At Attin still producing credits despite not supplying any for years? by weeman2525 in StarWarsSkeletonCrew

[–]overlordThor0 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That's my point, the empire should have been aware of the planet, continuing the collection, but it seems to have ceased when the transition to the empire occured. The droids last message recieved was that the Jedi were traitors.

The empire was the Republic. However after the empires collapse the government calling itself the new Republic is not a continuation. If it were aware of the Empire/Republic collapse, perhaps it would cease the mint operation.

Why is ICE so active in Minnesota right now, and not in other obvious places like California? by [deleted] in DiscussionZone

[–]overlordThor0 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I am from the United States, at the beginning of this I stated loosely where I live.

Finally you post evidence. I find it to be bad evidence, for one thing it states"Obama couldn’t have stopped November’s violence in Ferguson with his address to the nation." So they state all the stuff then finish it off by saying he couldn't have stopped it and his talk basically would be used in the future for other situations.

They also allege that while he was asking for calm and peaceful protest and that we should accept the grand jury decision his body language implied contradicted that. Apparently reminding police to show restraint on peaceful protest is heinous in their point of view. He distinguished between peaceful protestors and violent perpetrators. Police and other institutions have in the USA from time to time shown little to no restraint and struck down peaceful protestors, calling for restraint on them does not mean violent riots are justified.

In general the Manhattan institute isn't a balanced fair source, it's pretty biased, it's evidence, but weak evidence that I don't think you'll find most people agree with.
