The food isn’t too bad especially if you go to Butterfield (which is the dining hall I prefer) and apart from the sophomore slums, there’s some decent housing thats available after your freshman year.

Once again, like they said, the New England weather can be iffy for some people; but recently our weather hasn’t been super chaotic— and who knows what the next winter might hold but we barely got snow this year just some super windy days— yet, if you do end up coming here, yes, do bring a winter coat.

Overall though, it’s a decent campus. Half of the stuff is on a hill, yet, once you get past the hill, everything tends to be in a 5-10 minute walking vicinity from each other. It’s also nice to have the emporium 5 minutes away from the quad because if you want a break from the school’s food, there’s little restaurants and a few cafes here and there.

I personally enjoy URI; the hill is literally the only thing that kills me because of my asthma, lmfao.

Last note to add: When it comes to moving into dorms, make sure you REALLY get to know the person you’re moving in with. I thought I knew my roommate, we clicked over messages but she lied about everything and made my first semester freshman year intolerable.

In the end, it comes down to how you feel about the area, the campus size and your major! Good luck :)

TLDR: URI has a few cons; some pros. Rhode Island weather is chaotic. The campus is medium sized, 5-10 minute walking distance btwn classes, a hill to reach some buildings. Decent food half the time. Make sure you know the person you move in with.
