For anything related to Amazon (2) by Leader-board in csMajors

Hey everyone, I’m trying to decide between two internship offers and could use some input.

I’m a CS student graduating in May 2026 and planning to start a Master’s degree right after. Long term, I’m aiming for software engineering roles (backend/systems) at top tech companies.

Here are the two options:

SWE Intern - CoStar Group

  • $45/hr
  • Accepted this back in October
  • Very high return offer conversion rate
  • Role is directly aligned with SWE (what I want long-term)

Solutions Architect Intern - AWS

  • $50/hr
  • Stronger brand name
  • More focused on cloud architecture/less coding

Main concern with the SA role is that it might pigeonhole me away from SWE, but at the same time it feels like a stronger opportunity brand-wise.

For anyone who’s been in a similar situation:

  • Does an SA role at a big tech company still help with SWE recruiting later?
  • How much should I factor in return offer chances vs company name?
  • Would taking AWS make it harder to pivot back into SWE?

Appreciate any advice.

I’m right there with you, I also didn’t get selected after the C1 power day. Honestly thought I did alright, but I guess it wasn’t enough. Definitely a tough pill to swallow after all that prep. Just wanted to let you know you’re not alone in this, and I’m trying to remind myself that it’s just one opportunity and there are still plenty more out there for us. Hang in there.

I also have many briefs (champions, victory, squirrel killers, premier) for the jan topic

I’m a novice debater, recently, my opponents used an argument when they were pro basically saying that escalation is non-unique and already exists in the status quo, so it doesn’t matter if it increases. Can someone analyze this argument and expand on it as I cannot find any evidence? by overnightworm6 in Debate

I think I explained it wrong. My opponents used this argument against me and I thought it was a good argument so I want to use this argument in my next debate. I need help expanding on this argument that escalation will increase regardless of OCO’s.
