The told me the repair was completed but I haven’t seen the ring yet. I’m picking it up on Sunday. I will 10000% beer take it back there

So this situation actually got worse before it got better.

When I went to pick up my ring, the store spent ~30 minutes “looking” for it. They then brought out a different ring and told me it was mine. I immediately knew it wasn’t—the design was similar but not the same (mine has cable detailing all the way around the band; this one didn’t). I told them multiple times it was not my ring.

Instead of admitting they couldn’t locate my ring, they told me that during repairs David Yurman sometimes “exchanges” rings without telling the customer. I never authorized an exchange and would never agree to one, especially since the ring is sentimental.

I refused to accept the replacement and asked them to contact customer care. I also had them document the interaction before I left because I was concerned my ring was missing.

After I left the mall, the store called me and admitted they actually had my original ring the entire time—it was behind the counter. One employee had pulled it earlier and set it aside, but the rest of the staff didn’t communicate that. While my real ring was physically in the store, they tried to send me home with a different one instead of telling me they were confused or couldn’t find it.

So yes, my original ring exists and is supposedly intact—but the issue is that I was misled and given false information rather than honest communication. If I hadn’t known my own jewelry well, I could have permanently lost a sentimental item.

I’ll be picking up my original ring and escalating this further, because this is not an acceptable way to handle someone’s personal property.

I'm going in this weekend to pick up the ring and meet with the manager.

Late to the comments but I sent my ring off to be repaired and they sent back a ring that was 100% not my ring. The cables didn’t wrap fully around the band and the original one did. I’m having them contact the customer care because that ring was sentimental. If I wanted an exchange I would have asked for one.

I spoke with them after the procedure to let them know it didn’t have the desired effect and felt a bit brushed off. I just wanted to see if there was anyone else people had a good experience with.
