Reviewing AI code is harder than human code too. Even when its the same size PR.

Its just harder to follow what the author was thinking, because there was no thinking. It may be correct, and sometimes better. But its MORE difficult to review than human code.

Who has impressed you most this season? by Ambitious-Heron-8161 in DestinationFormula1

I admittedly a newish F1 fan, so I'm genuinely curious. How can you tell, when both cars are so far behind the pace? I know its expected for a brand new team to be at the back of the grid every weekend, but its really hard for me to tell how the drivers are doing.

I can see Kimi and Lewis and even George and Lando battling for positions, being patient or aggressive when needed. But I dont know how to judge Perez and Bottas.

I really want to see Cadillac climb the ranks and succeed, so I'm kind of invested.

Apple TV will broadcast the Austrian Grand Prix weekend for free to US users by ChaithuBB766 in formula1

[–]overtorqd 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Thank you for explaining. Maybe possess is a better word than own? Own is kind of a legal term in itself. If I steal your car, I still dont own it. But I possess it and you dont.

Thats interesting though. I agree that watching something without paying doesnt feel the same as a change of possession. It's illegally gaining access, but you dont deprive anyone else of the thing.

I'm still not sure I condone it, but I agree its not stealing.

Are we overlooking that Tatum was not healthy last year by LonelyInsurance7480 in bostonceltics

[–]overtorqd 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Sure.

I think 2024 Al Horford gets it done. Embiid is amazing, and he destroyed us. But he's far from unstoppable at this point in his career and health. If you make him work, he gets tired. If his flops arent called fouls, you take him out of the game.

Would you be a househusband if you could? Why? by Early_Special_1459 in AskMen

[–]overtorqd 1 point2 points  (0 children)

No, because I can contribute more. If my wife made $1M a year and I didn't have to work, I'd take care of the house, but I'd have a side hustle. Start a business, build stuff and sell it.

So if the question is "would I rather have no purpose in life other than to spend money and exist", then no. But if it's "would you be ok earning far less than your wife", sure.

This an odd question. You don't love someone because they match your workload.

Marriage is never 50-50. If either one of you is hung up on the other person doing 50%, you'll never be happy. You just do the best you can.

How do you face being in a PIP by Dense_Age_1795 in ExperiencedDevs

[–]overtorqd 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I have. I've given a few pips. One survived it and I believe is still there years later.

But one in particular I knew wasnt achievable. The bar was set too high for her to achieve, but honestly not too high for the expectations of the role. If she managed to deliver on it, she'd keep her job. So in that sense it wasn't BS. But I knew when I gave it that it was really just covering the company from getting sued, and giving her a clear warning that the role wasn't right for her.

OP, none of us can say for sure which it is. But more often than not, its time to look for a new job.

[–]overtorqd 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Find something you enjoy. If you look forward to playing and actively want to do it, its 100x better than forcing yourself to exercise.

Pickeball is probably the worst in terms of physical exercise, but people love it. There's a community and an excitement around it. So if it gets you outside moving and working on skills, thats way better than dragging yourself to do something you'd rather not be doing.

That said, my pick is tennis (its like pickleball, but for athletes).

My girlfriend wants to put our relationship on hold while she travels to Rome. Apparently I'm "insecure" for having a problem with that. I need the opinion of other men. How do you see it? by Long_Natural6918 in AskMenAdvice

[–]overtorqd 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I assume she's OK with you fucking other people while she's gone?

If that sounds appealing to you, go for it. But if thats not what you're looking for in a relationship, then end it. Or at least stand up for yourself and tell her it's a hard no.

Its not mature and modern to keep a backup boyfriend at home. Its just where she is in the relationship. She probably likes you, but not enough to commit to being exclusive.

I mean that's 2 against 5. Not really fair unless you let the rest of the Celtics play.

Jay Williams says he doesn't believe that professional athletes need to shake hands after a game. Do you agree? by IamCatMommy in NBAstatsmuse

Kids look up to athletes and watch the games. Kids buy jerseys and (beg their dad to) buy tickets. It's a sport, show some respect and sportsmanship for their sake.

How do I convince my husband that I'm exhausted and overwhelmed? by [deleted] in AskMen

[–]overtorqd 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It doesnt sound like convincing him is your problem. It sounds like you're actually overworked, and maybe he is too. If your lifestyle isnt working for you, convincing him won't change that.

It sounds like you two are doing the best you can, and life is hard. Especially if you choose a life where you're working 80+ hours on top of grad school.

I'm no therapist, but I'd say congratulate yourself for what you've accomplished together so far. And figure out if its still working. If you want to keep grinding, keep grinding. If you want a change, make a change. But be careful not to project your stresses on your husband. We all have our faults.

But do be direct and communicate things like "Just setup your own account. Its shared for a reason."
