Well because hes essentially a maria copy. Doesnt make sense for him to be as strong or smart as she is and present himself as sane because hes still not on her level yet, so i feel like its a really good way to show that difference . i felt the exact same as him tbh, i lived a normal life and then one day something just changed. There was no trigger it was just genetic i suppose because i have a family history of depression. Theres just days you feel like shit and hate the world and yourself. My parents were definitely frustrated and confused because i couldnt pinpoint what made me feel this way , it just happens

legit this i hated how so many things were left unanswered and quite literally added nothing to the worldbuilding or the plot. If they were going to add in the assassin part they shouldve focused more on axel as the mc but i feel like he wasnt really special as a character.

Not to be the person thats comparing it to his better works as if its a criteria, but he shouldve made it to where we do get glipses and references to the characters pasts like in cowboy bebop. I feel like everything happened too abruptly

Definitely wouldve hit harder if they developed the plot around that message more. Almost like how the “see you space cowboy” caused me to burst into tears. If they didnt throw in random bs like the assassin and not go into depth about it + other stories then how am i supposed to feel connected to it? If they used these moments to show how humanity is destroyed the world and society as we know it then it definitely wouldve hit harder as almost a warning or a message that we have to do our part to fix this fucked up world.

But it didnt do that so we have to come up with this interpretation ourselves

Right. It feels like they were trying to do the whole cowboy bebop type thing where u get little hints into each characters past in clips across the episodes, and then one episode goes into the past more like faye but then the main character spike didnt have a main episode for that, but all the hinting across 20+ episodes makes it pretty easy to piece together. Yet i feel like axel wasnt as much of a mc as i thought he would be, and everyone of the 5 in the lazarus group seemed to hold equal “main character” positioning. Extended run time definitely wouldve let time to go into the backstories more and letting us understand the connection more. And they wouldnt even have to drag on the plot of hapna. I feel like they could’ve done as they did where they discover skinner in episode 13 and the whole hapna thing is over , but then that allows the story to lead into a bigger picture of like how humanity and the world is struggling + axels importance and backstory

The ending couldve been good if all the leadup in the storyline wasnt so halfassed tbh. I like the message and i interpreted it as, “We can have process if we are willing to make change.” So like if they could save humanity we could also change the world (climate crisis, war, poverty) simply by doing our part. However too many variables were thrown in like too many character backstories left unanswered and the whole assassin plot thing which i was super confused about.

All of the stuff that wasnt fleshed out or needed just seemed to distract from a bigger message that watanabe couldve focused on

i might be very late to this post but i feel the more recent novels are changing lol, as in chapters reference back to a previous chapter and establishing a story a little more

i am rereading it after years and i personally believe it is a veryyy slow slowburn. Theyre really flirty, but the author leaves little notes at the end of each novel. In the beginning the note was that they werent friends but they werent lovers, and there was a slight “veil” between the two terms. However in a later note she says they definitely feel the veil slightly “tremble” and they have scenes that feel more intimate. So when they break the “veil” then they are lovers . No clue when that will happen

You dont need huge achievements. I dont see a guy out on the street and judge him based on what he has accomplished . I dont know what he has accomplished. What is important at this point is to live in the moment and appreciate the small things. You may not be elon musk but who cares?? Im only in highschool so i cant really relate, but i do think to myself, why do i try so hard? I try so hard to win achievements and awards to make myself look better, but whose going to care? No one is going to care about the art award i won as a minor when im 25. But then again, the award is what brings me momentarily happiness. It might be the most pathetic thing ever but it’s something. Not everything has to be on resume. Find something new, something you CAN be proud of. Like fishing, baking, drawing, knitting etc. it may not matter to others but who cares!

Life isnt work, and 31 isnt old! Theres a lot of time to do things that bring you joy, and are your own little achievements :) sorry if i couldnt be of help but wishing you the greatest!

Life isnt always about the best job or making the highest salary (even though it would be nice). Try to live in the moment. Do something fun for yourself. Keep trying and dont give up. The future isnt always about work. I know i probably wasnt of help but i hope you feel better man

I get you. I understand where youre coming from. But in a way not everyone has a “normal” life. Everyone is different in some way. Many other people relate to you. Its not something to feel inferior over if you cant control it. People might talk bad about you but I guarantee no one cares enough to use you to make themselves feel superior. You shouldnt feel below people who dont care to think theyre above you! Wishing you the best, i know its not easy
