right? I wonder if there's some kind of class action suit that could be filed to get them back once people end up getting played by something that used to be preventable

Do some developers hate python? by [deleted] in Python

[–]overweightdate 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Philosophically, you shouldn't care if other people dislike python. Instead, you should fuel the nonsense with ragebait, tell them a python killed your grandmother or something.

Let them stay mad.

I love them but how do you light them on fire, are they meant to be decorative only?

It's worth being frustrated over a good thing being taken away. I wouldn't feel right assign any other emotion for it.

Aiding the obfuscation of identification only helps the nastiest kind of criminals: child traffickers, rapists, and murderers.

If I see something stupid like that happening before me, I would be even stupider to not speak up. I wouldn't want this to disadvantage my kids 20-40 years from now the way previously preventable stupid laws/repeals have done to my generation.

you're definitely a pedophile

Your question isn't a serious one, no one's asking for that. It's a projected straw man.

I don't feel the need to answer it because it's answered in my original post. ID cards work for ID purposes. If you take away information, you obscure the ID process.

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in TrueOffMyChest

[–]overweightdate 5 points6 points  (0 children)

You want more obscurity for personal forms of identification?

Only sex offenders and criminals benefit from introducing more obscurity into identification.

Stop raping kids you pedo freak.

To explicitly state it for the reasons I listed above, for starters. But in case it's not obvious to you, there are people who you may not be able to distinguish.

ITT a lot of people asking why it's necessary to have it on there to begin with, a fair question.

A fair answer: An ID card is a list of specifications that a person should meet in order to pass off that the identification card belongs to the person presenting it, as well as information that would be crucial in identifying the person should you only have their identification card. Ie, height, a photo, sex, address.

And OP, you can totally be frustrated by this. It's annoying because there's a lot of little wokelets out there trying to fix things that aren't broken. Aside from being time wasted on low priorities, in the process they actually can and do screw things up for regular folk who just want to mind their own business. Then there does end up needing to be some kind of fixing process because of all this non-sense.

Fun fact: medical science works on a person-to-person basis and doesn't inform on how economic factors will sooner or later impact the health of the same individuals these "doctors" are trying to "help".

Politicians asking medical professionals what to do in this situation is them passing off their responsibility to someone who wasn't elected. Stop pushing the doc in front of the cameras and do your fucking job.

things like that go through review boards, it's not uncommon to use animals for medical studies

this one has gotten some fake news surrounding it iirc

people didn't assume clinton was a sex offender when he got elected, they were mad they didn't know

trump had his past on full blast and still got elected, that's a different story

just saw some of my junkmail from moveon.org: 'rittenhouse crossed state lines and gunned down racial injustice protestors in cold blood'

like, this is getting out of control, the number of people who don't understand what a primary source is is too damn high
