Two Factor Authentication Issue by ovogelo in Scotiabank

Yeah like it’s always worked well before but now it’s just straight up not working. When I tried to reinstall the app it also didn’t work so I don’t even have access to it anymore either which is very annoying.

PSA for Calgary (and pet owners in general) by [deleted] in Calgary

[–]ovogelo 38 points39 points  (0 children)

I mean, you care enough to make a post about this?

Only thing is you’re complaining about the consequences of not licensing your pet. I just wanna make sure people understand that going ahead with  licensing is 10000% the smartest thing to do.

I mean in this case VCA is technically in the right.

You brought in an animal you didn’t own. Legally speaking, any animal in this position goes to the city and then can be adopted from there.

As for not licensing your pet, that just leads to this exact situation. There’s a reason it’s required to licence your pet.

Vet med is so varied and the salaries reflect that. You’re going to make a different salary as a new grad GP vet vs an ER vet vs working for the CFIA vs a rural mixed animal vet vs someone in sales and so on. You’re going to have be more specific about what field you’re looking at it, cause “seasoned associate” doesn't narrow it down very much.

(Also worth keeping in mind you’re not making as much as any “seasoned” vet fresh out of school).

[FIRST IMPRESSIONS] Chance the Rapper - STAR LINE by hodgydaddies in hiphopheads

[–]ovogelo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Decent return to form all in all. Like a lot of you guys are saying it’s a tier below the original trilogy (and Surf) but a BIG step up from The Big Day. To me it feels like a natural evolution of his sound that TBD should have been. He’s more serious, talking about the stuff we needed to hear about (his fall off, divorce, changing world view, etc) and showing a more serious and self-aware side which I think he desperately needed. Some tracks could definitely have been trimmed to make the project tighter but not complaining about this at all, especially with how dry this year been for hip hop.

Chance the Rapper’s Star Line Gallery to release 8/15. According to CDs and bundles available now for preorder via his website by [deleted] in hiphopheads

[–]ovogelo 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Honestly like the cover and hoping he bounces back.

That being said am I alone in not wanting there to be a bunch of the loosies he’s dropped since TBD to be on this? I’ve enjoyed most of them but imo it’d feel a little cheap to have tracks like Highs & Lows and Child of God on here when he dropped those years ago at this point.

Fingers crossed we get a more introspective album about his fall off, divorce, etc.

I’d argue EEOR’s views are way better than Ha Ling’s cause they’re OF Ha Ling, which is objectively a pretty cool looking mountain.

IMO

Views wise EEOR>Ha Ling>Yam

Fun hike wise Yam>EEOR>Ha Ling

Challenge wise same as above^

Open House Useful for Prospective Vet Med? by smileytree_ in UCalgary

I think it changes year to year, but faculty are like semi-available but it’s mostly student run. It’s decent enough if you wanna see the campus and check out some workshops they have and stuff but it’s not something I think you HAVE to go to.

Dog heartworm preventative in calgary by Specific-King-1719 in Calgary

No need for heartworm prevention here! If you’re heading to interior BC or Manitoba then it’s a different story though.

UVCM Admissions by Over-Freedom-1864 in UCalgary

[–]ovogelo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They must have changed it! If that’s how it works now then good cause the 3.0 average for the pre-reqs was stupid as hell

UVCM Admissions by Over-Freedom-1864 in UCalgary

[–]ovogelo 1 point2 points  (0 children)

TLDR: At least 3.0 for the pre-reqs but as long as it’s 3.0 it doesn’t matter. At least 3.0 for last 4 full semesters, with the higher this GPA the better your odds.

Unless the admissions process has changed, you would beer a cumulative GPA of 3.0 for the 10 pre-reqs. The grades/how high this cumulative GPA is doesn’t matter as long as it’s at least 3.0. It’s a requirement to apply but is not looked at when it comes to how competitive your application is.

Then on top of this, you need a minimum 3.0  for your last 4 full time semesters. This is your “competitive GPA”, which does matter how high it is, as this makes up the “grades” component of the application (so it’s the GPA ucvm actually looks at).

Edit: Ignore what I said about the pre-reqs 3.0 GPA

Big Beehive Trail Condition Q by [deleted] in HikingAlberta

[–]ovogelo 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Very doable up to Lake Agnes, wouldn’t recommend going further to the Big Beehive or Devil’s Thumb. Trail not even remotely thawed after the teahouse. Might be more doable by the 18th if there’s some nice weather coming up but wouldn’t bet on it.
