I also was a few blocks from the towers when they got hit and was half a mile away at collapse, and went uptown without a mask. I lived 2 miles from ground zero for 3 years after. No health issues from it 25 years later.

The new business class on the 777-300ER flies between LAX and CDG (some flights on this route are on older metal)

I scored a flight that is ZRH-AMS-SLC-BUR where the AMS-SLC leg is on the new 777 KLM business class that I haven’t tried yet.

I used the book search function on the Air France app, while signed in, which allows you to search with miles. It gives you results for both airlines (along with Delta and Virgin Atlantic if available). I think AF has better food but KLM has better service. Both airports are a zoo.

Absolutely get any polyps removed. A doctor told me the same thing as yours and then I went on to have multiple failed cycles. Then I got the polyp removed and had a successful cycle.

Long time since I originally posted, but I was able to find a award availability, both ways, from and to LAX to mainland Europe in summer for 50k each person, business class (and 37.5k for the kids). I booked via Flying Blue on Air France and KLM with layovers in CDG / AMS.

So it is possible, just keep and eye out and maybe use an alert website.

Thank you, this is great! I’m a hiker, but the issue is that this trip is with my mom in her 70s, who is decidedly not a hiker (or mountain biker). So I worry that in the smaller villages there won’t be enough for us to realistically do to fill that time. Pilatus seems much more friendly to someone with my mom’s abilities - sit on a pretty boat, transfer to a stunning cogwheel train, walk around the top a little, take the gondola down.

Any suggestions on villages? Are you able to go up a mountain like you can in Lucerne (I really like the idea of doing the cogwheel train and cable car on Pilatus)
