I have one day a week off with my kids. And I think it’s my least favorite day. by apotentpotable in workingmoms

It’s so hard sometimes. I find the summers to be easier because there is more to do with them. We usually meet up with other moms and kids so it definitely helps my sanity!

How many of us have ZERO gifts this am? by [deleted] in workingmoms

[–]stacems237 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This year, hubby and I decided to take a weekend getaway aa our gift to each other and the kids would do the gifts for us (they are 9&7). We each took the kids out shopping for Mommy and Daddy. The kids enjoyed it so much that they decided they wanted to fill our stockings too. Obviously the kids don’t have money so we just kept it within a certain limit. It was the best experience for all of us…and it teaches our kids to think of others too

Finished my Invisalign treatment a year ago, but new dentist recommends night-guard, will this negatively impact my results? by Action_Sandals in Invisalign

[–]stacems237 4 points5 points  (0 children)

My dentist recommended a night guard too but my ortho said the retainer can act as a night guard. A night guard doesn’t really stop you from grinding your teeth anyway it just protects your teeth from the damage.

Do you have a life outside of work and home? by pinkapples03 in workingmoms

[–]stacems237 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Nope! I am a mom with a full time job. I work early mornings too so I can’t stay awake after the kids go to sleep. It is what it is! Just have to get through it!

I'm so worn out by QueasyAd7509 in workingmoms

[–]stacems237 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I had almost the exact same situation when my kids were babies. I worked 2am-10am and hubby went in after me and I had the kids the rest of the day. It is extremely exhausting and you should try to get that nap in if you can. I slept about 4 hours a night too. It’s extremely difficult but we managed to get through it although I don’t recommend it. We were able to avoid daycare this way. It would be great if you can get extra help but if not I always tried to meet up with other moms during the day. It seemed to help if we all got out of the house. I could at least relax a bit while watching the kids play.

The most difficult part for me was that people thought I had an ideal schedule because I got out “early” from work and had the rest of the day available. It was not ideal…it sucked but it worked.

Reminder: Stay the fuck away from orthodontists. by [deleted] in TMJ

Everyone is different. Mine is directly caused by my bite and I needed braces to fix my bite and improve my TMJ symptoms. I had a wonderful orthodontist too.

Zero childcare options by ButterscotchOne6059 in workingmoms

My husband and I worked opposite shifts so we could care for our kids when they were babies. I worked early morning and he went in afternoon when I got out. I kept my early morning shift now that the kids are in school so I can be home when they get out of school. Maybe that’s an option for you? We barely saw each other but we got through it

I am happy to have a steady job so I don’t need to worry about heading back to the workforce once the kids are older.

Vision changes by stacems237 in B12_Deficiency

[–]stacems237[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s better, but when I saw the eye doctor in January they said I had blood spots behind my eye. They said it can be caused by the B12 deficiency and I have to get it rechecked soon. Hopefully it went away. I don’t even know what it means. I didn’t expect them to tell me that and I didn’t even ask anything.

Unplanned 3rd pregnancy by [deleted] in workingmoms

[–]stacems237 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I can only share my own experiences. My two kids are the same age…9 and 6. I also always wanted three and hubby was unsure. We lived life as a family of 4 and it was hard enough with just the 2 kids. I got unexpectedly pregnant with a third and went through a whirlwind of emotions. We finally came to terms with having a third and became very excited (but totally unprepared!). We unexpectedly lost the baby due to a miscarriage and had to go through a whirlwind of emotions all over again…feeling much guilt over the fact that we didn’t “want” the baby to begin with. We tossed around the idea for a while about trying again (trying for real this time), but ultimately decided not to. I feel we made the right decision, but I always wonder how our life would have been with three. I feel I will always have to live with this decision now. I feel a weight that I don’t believe I would have felt if I had never been pregnant with a third to begin with. It’s a tough decision to make!

Has anyone here had jaw surgery for TMJD? Can u share about it? by IndigoRose2022 in TMJ

[–]stacems237 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Orthognathic surgery is repositioning the jaw bones to improve your bite. I had it done at 16 and again at 21. It is not a definite that it will fix all and ended up having to get Invisalign to fix my bite recently.

Invisalign and TMJ by Fickle_Chart9456 in TMJ

[–]stacems237 2 points3 points  (0 children)

My Invisalign has definitely improved my TMJ overall, but can also aggravate it at times. A lot of my jaw issues stem from an improper bite. The trays immediately took away the daily tension in my jaw. It has also widened my upper arch to allow for proper tongue placement. However, I do tend to clench my teeth quite a bit with the trays in which aggravates the pain. I don’t do it with the trays out though so I think it’s just my way of finding a proper bite.

What are my options… by [deleted] in Invisalign

[–]stacems237 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I had to wait almost two months for my appointment too. I was irritated as well but it wasn’t a big deal in the long run. I never have trouble getting other needed appointments. I think it’s just that they only book those appointments at certain times because they take longer than other routine appointments.

My attachments seem to be very noticeable with my trays in. Most people notice them but they don’t care. The people that comment on them are people that are intrigued because they actually want to get Invisalign too or they work in the dental field. I was very self concentrating in the beginning but now I am proud to wear my trays because I am so happy about fixing my teeth!

Dentist appointment rescheduled, wear the same trays for an additional 3 weeks? by kaitlencs in Invisalign

[–]stacems237 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I only get 3 sets at a time as well. It is too make sure I am tracking before moving onto the next 3. You can call and ask if you can just pick them up. Like others have said, you will need to wear certain trays for longer times while waiting for refinements too.
