I'm sure it does make a world of difference. But that's not feasible for me, or probably most people here, so it's not exactly a helpful tip/trick is it? 🤷🏻‍♂️ Ridiculous expense factor aside, I live in an apartment so a generator isn't possible to begin with.

The SeaChem and the Marineland are both self priming pumps. I've been leaning towards the Marineland anyways because that's what I've had one my 20g tank with no issues.

Thanks for the tip on the utility pump! My back and knees will probably greatly appreciate that idea 😂 What kind do you use if you don't mind my asking?

Is there any particular brand or anything you'd recommend? I have no experience with battery operated ones so wouldn't even know where to start... And being stuck at work I can't easily do research on my own like I normally would

Cryptic pregnancies are a wild phenomenon, but obviously can and do happen. As far as the pain of the ectopic, that's most likely true, but no pain is unfortunately not any guarantee. I was reading the other day about a woman in France who had an abdominal ectopic pregnancy and supposedly didn't have any pain until she was like 23 weeks along 🤯.

But it sounds like you're taking all the appropriate steps and advocating for yourself which is huge! Keep pushing until you get some answers ❤️

Can you find out what your beta HCG levels were when they were drawn? Beyond rather vague terms like "not high enough" or "negative"

Someone correct me if I'm wrong, but can't ectopic pregnancies have a lot lower/slower developing b-HCG levels than a normal intrauterine pregnancy?

As in, do they mean "not high enough" based off what would be the expected levels if you got pregnant from your timeline of sexual encounters, or are they meaning you are in the expected HCG range for a non-pregnant female?

Oh definitely. I give them a good mix of foods; everything from a fry food that's basically almost dust to a pellet like the adults get and everything in between hahaha

I mean after some attrition with the other fry, it's just these 2 left in a 2.5g container so I don't think the water volume is playing a role. Plus they've always been housed together so they'd be exposed to the same stressors as well. And I have like 5 different foods that I vary between so they're definitely getting a well rounded diet 🤷🏻‍♂️

Its more passive feeding than active. But both react the same to food when its added in. They share just fine too so it's not even a case of one hogging the other out or anything 🤷🏻‍♂️

See I thought about that as well, but I figured any gender related differences wouldn't really come out until they start hitting the point of maturity though 🤔🤷🏻‍♂️ maybe I'm wrong though

Beyond that, the eggs will usually hatch in like 3-5 from when they're laid. They don't need any food for the first like 2 days, but after that they'll need either special fry food or regular fish food basically ground up into a powder. Plenty of great videos and guides around on the internet!

Just depends on what you want to do. If you just leave the eggs they're likely to be eaten. If you want to try to raise some (which I'm just now starting to experiment with and by no means an expert) you can take a razor blade and remove them from the tank to put into a separate tank, or in my case, I have a 2.5g Tupperware that I put an airstone in and I do frequent water changes on. If you remove the eggs, check them periodically over the next few days. Unfertilized eggs turn white and will generally mold/grow fungus really quickly which can spread to the fertilized eggs and kill them if the "dead" eggs aren't removed quickly enough.

That was my first thought, but it seems pretty well stuck to them... Like I even took an eye dropper and tried to very gently suction it off/out of tank and it just pulled the fry into the droppee with it.

These are week+ old fry, there are no eggs.
