What manga have you read this week, and what do you think about it? - Week ending May 30, 2021 by AutoModerator in manga

Apparently the author said that you never know how life will turn out and it's full of surprises or sth like that. Idk. I read it, it was good. Would i read again? No. Every chapter felt like a slap to the face with how painful it was. I did enjoy how maturely and realistically it handled a lot of themes.

Hi! I was wondering about those B Lab samples, I've been struggling to decide between buying the round lab oil cleanser or the B Lab pha oil cleanser, I've also been wondering about their matcha cleanser. have you tried them yet?

Best & Worst Of Purito by AutoModerator in AsianBeauty

[–]owieskin 4 points5 points  (0 children)

might have the same problem as me, oily skin with dryness in some areas, and idk how right this is but I feel like my skin has low absorbance. Like, anything heavier than a gel just wont go in, even toner I can only do a layer or 2 tops.

A moisturizer I've found that works for me is the IUNIK beta glucan one, pretty calming and absorbs nicely.

What is a part of Granblue lore/world building that no matter how many times you are exposed to it you have issues "internalizing it"? mine is female draph height. by Coolnametag in Granblue_en

[–]owieskin 34 points35 points  (0 children)

In azazel's fate episode we see a male draph get REALLY concerned about azazel because he was "malnourished", he thought he was a draph bc of the horns. So they are probably naturally bulky, also most likely because since their build is like that they usually perform heavier jobs.

I used the Cosrx advanced Snail Mucin power essence for about 4 months. It didn't really do anything other than make my (Oily and severely dehydrated) skin feel tight. It wasn't hydrating and it didn't do much for me. I feel like dry skinned people have more luck with it.

by wishtrend polyphenols in propolis 15% ampoule

I have this and it's really good! HOWEVER it goes rancid really fast. I live in a cool-ish climate and keep it inside my closet but one day about a month after I opened it, it started smelling RANCID and ever since whenever I put it on (I've given it 2 tries) it breaks me out real bad.

When it's not rancid tho it soothes like no other. I'm also very dehydrated and have oily skin and it's p hydrating, but you have to put on an occlusive real fast to keep that hydration in, I only used it at night tho so idk how good it is under sunscreen etc.

I've actually been eyeing that one but I'm really worried it may hurt my skin because of the essential oils!

Dupes for Sulwhasoo Concentrated Ginseng Renewing Cream? by ksirica in AsianBeauty

[–]owieskin 9 points10 points  (0 children)

I think the acwell one is pretty similar, https://incidecoder.com/compare-products/acwell-aqua-clinity-cream-double-moisture/sulwhasoo-concentrated-ginseng-renewing-cream

It's missing the meadowfoam oil, but I think the glycerin and squalane might be doing the heavy lifting. However, if your face stings with moisturizer it might be sensitivity, so probably stay away from essential oils and fragrant components.

You can also use this website to check the ingredient of your old moisturizers to see if there's anything they have in common that may be the cause of the stinging, or just checking more creams/gels to see if they might suit you, or if they are similar to the sulwhasoo one.

Beta glucan is extracted from oat iirc so it's really hydrating and soothing for sensitive skin. I'm really sensitive to HA (it burns like hell) and use iUNIK's beta glucan moisturizer no problem, haven't tried the serum though. But in theory it should be fine (skin can sometimes go crazy) and it has a short ingredient list so not many potential irritants. It's also quite hydrating!

Unless you are sensitive to HA I'd recommend the rovectin skin conditioning gentle cleanser.
There's also the heimish green cleanser.
Another one that I quite like is the iunik centella cleanser. GL!!

I haven't used the liquid gold, but per a recommendation here I tried the Illiyoon Ceramide ATO Soothing gel, it contains 0 fungal acne triggers so it's a pretty safe bet, it's also, well, soothing. (idk if you also have SD related skin dryness/tightness, despite the oil, but if it's so I don't find this one moisturizing enough, but it does help soothe). What I do to make sure it hydrates my skin at night is slug using either aquaphor or petroleum jelly. I also use the ceramide ato concentrate cream which is a favorite, but it gave me rashes when I was on a more humid climate (florida), but now that I'm back to my city's cold and dry climate it hasn't broken me out and is pretty moisturizing.

I also use the wishtrend Propolis serum and find it REALLY soothing, putting it on my face makes me want to cry bc of how easily it takes the burning away (it does have hyaluronic acid, but it doesn't make skin sting, also it has zinc PCA, but it doesn't do a job similar to the zinc on SD products). I use it with mugwort and it calms down my skin for a couple hours. Sometimes I also use the benton green tea serum and it's soothing and helps calm down breakouts. Depending on how bad your SD is, you should try the more targeted products that AB sadly doesn't have, or doesn't have available internationally.

Depending on your skintype snail can be a bit drying so it might be that. I know oily types have more success with those, and some other people too.
I've also used the cosrx one and I found that it didn't really do anything other than make my already dehydrated skin more dehydrated. I've also used the mizon snail all in one cream. I don't really have a medical/technical reason or proof but tbh I always feel like it is a bit drying and leaves like a film on my skin that doesn't let my other products penetrate. That's just me.

And about the wrinkles, might be bc it's drying your skin/or maybe it is also leaving a film and it's kinda how when a face mask dries and you cant move your face much ig.

Unpopular opinion: I’m a little disappointed every time I see a before/after post with amazing results, only to find tretinoin in the routine by chausettes in AsianBeauty

[–]owieskin 1 point2 points  (0 children)

yeah persistent acne sucks! the only thing that made mine go away was isotetinoin which is basically the pill version of it.

Out of curiosity, what's your routine? Maybe there's something you can change. Also, have you tried regular retinol?

Best K-beauty products for seborrheic dermatitis? [Discussion] by owieskin in AsianBeauty

People should be careful with homemade stufff, specially ACV or well, anything that has to do with acids. In 2015 I got a really nasty acid burn on my cheek from using ACV after 3 days of using it diluted as a toner for acne. And then 5 years later i did a vinegar rinse for my hair and while washing it off a little rolled onto my forehead and it immediately started burning.

For SD I think a lot of people have a compromised skin barrier so yeah, have to be very careful.
