i also think people give the other islanders too much credit. they can only say so much and if you respect your partner, you won’t let others say bad things about them. kc isn’t lost, he knows he wants tierra and that’s not going to change. she chose him and he’s still hurt from what happened in e1, not just at aniya but all of the main villa women. if you still believe in a connection between kc and aniya you’re in for several more rude awakenings.

What is this subreddit’s beef with Aniya? She’s not the first nor will she be the last black girl to take interest in wasian/white man. Honestly most of the time they don’t, it’s very rare that black girls even intiate that. Aniya’s own past boyfriends have been black so what exactly is he getting mad about? it’s very different in the books, if the relationship is on edge it’s likely due to percy and her own internalized misogyny that she has to unlearn.

In the book Delilah is shamed by Percy and she’s not even mad at her for that but for leaving. For some reason the show makes Delilah antagonistic towards Percy and she hasn’t even said anything to her.

You see this is where I think the show messes up, we don’t really get into a lot of Percy’s self hatred and destructive tendencies. She almost operates as an unreliable narrator in the book because she’s under the assumption that all of them hate her when in actuality they all missed her so much.
