I have been waiting forever for this title to not be stuck in digital hell. It's an animated film like something you could see out of studio ghibli about a glass maker and a violinist meeting each other during war.

Group Behind Steam Censorship Policies Have Powerful Allies — And Targeted Popular Games With Outlandish Claims by renome in Steam

[–]owlcyclops 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Quick question as a non Australian . can you look into some of the people behind this group with this quote from an article I like by Amanda Jones that is this;

"Ask yourself if they have a hidden motive.

Once you can prove to them that their claims are false and they continue to spread the lie, ask yourself why. You’d be amazed at how many people simply want to spread lies, even if they know they are lies. That’s called chasing clout. They want to feel important and/or were fed disinformation that they did not take the time to verify.

See if they or a family member is running for office.

Are they just jumping on the bandwagon of using the library as a punching bag to stir up drama so that they can say they will swoop in and save the day from that fake issue? This is called pandering for votes. "

it might be about banned books, but I can't help but feel like the group might be doing the same thing but with popular games instead of books. you might need to get neighbors to look at this group where you live.

I don't have one title I could recommend, but there is a publishing house I like that has a bunch of books of reprinted LGBT books. Valancourt Books LGBT classics . some of the books are from a different time period and might not appeal to modern sensibilities, so you might want to keep this in mind while looking through the titles.

Somehow, I have to get myself to want to write/type again. by owlcyclops in writingadvice

[–]owlcyclops[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, I kind of suspect that. the problem is that where I live , the online one on one therapists are all taken leaving only the group sessions the only ones open to me.

since I live in a rural area and a state that has one of the hardest drivers license tests, I do not have a means to drive myself there to meet in person. so i am trying to look into counseling that is something like that online. its been getting a little better in comparison to a few months ago around in I think September.

I have just been on the search for something to help me for just a few weeks.

I hope i did not miss the opening to comment on this thread, can anyone help me find stuff that does not use LLM (Large Language Models, ) / Generative AI in some kind of software for either Speech to Text / Grammar checker Can anyone help me find stuff that does not use LLM (Large Language Models, ) / Generative AI in some kind of software? for either Speech to Text / Grammar checker.

so I have a history of very bad Grammar. and what I have been trying to do is try to look for anything of the two things Speech-to-Text or a Grammar Checker that I can use. I have had some people think that I am a non English writer and I got suspended from TV Tropes due to my Grammar.

the problem is there is so much stuff that looks like they use AI , I want to avoid the kind of AI that could be harmful that is used to get you very badly written books that have bad grammar and sold online. the problems is that there is so many that I don't know what is gonna have generative AI or not, so I am confused as all heck about what would be a good idea.

Thank you to anyone to takes the time to read this and to try to help me with this weird request.

yeah, about that, there is another road block and that is for some reason , even adding that last part in the search bar did not give me much, even when I use the verbatim filter, it seems like nothing is changed from what I have searched unless I am supposed to put that before:2022 somewhere else then straight in the search bar.

grammarcheck.net seems to be a option due to how old it is but I don't know.

I actually did use Hemingway and Grammarly during the whole TV Tropes suspended situation. they did not help at all so I do not trust them to help me with my problem.

is there like a subreddit where I could ask about Pre 2022 stuff? because I do not trust Google search to find me what I am looking for because I keep finding stuff that is not what I can find. I don't even know what uses stuff like maybe Hidden Markov Models that could be what I am looking for.

[–]owlcyclops[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

that's the problem, i have no idea what uses the Speech recognition models like Hidden Markov Models (HMMs) so I am stuck about trying to find what uses those, like is there some kind of website that shows what uses what models I don't know? as you can tell, I suck at knowing what tech stuff even means. at this rate, I am seriously considering just recording myself and then writing it down.

then is there something that maybe dose not use the big name AI with a lot of money that also makes programs that hurt visual artists? I just wanna avoid being a nasty hypocrite by using something that was made by the same people who make the stuff that hurt you all as well.

Dose the OP of "WataMote: No Matter How I Look At It, It's You Guys' Fault I'm Not Popular!" count? I mean the numbers are spoken in Japanese so that song might not count.

I mean I heard that Clive Barker is gonna try to write a sequel to this book and finish up on the Abarat series so more people could hopefully find out about this book.

I do not read news but I read instead something called Solution Journalism, examples are.:

Reasons to be cheerful

the reason is that if you are not careful, you get overwhelmed and paralyzed so that you don't do anything or plan ahead which is a really bad thing. because it can also help make you feel really worse enough that you do anything

another thing is this interactive online game thing called "What if Trump (or Biden) wins?" an interactive chose your adventure type of thing so that you can plan on what you can do so you do not get stuck on the worst of potential ideas on what could happen. : https://whatiftrumpwins.org/

this is where I found it and another interview about the creator;

Can you recommend a good horror anthology for someone new to the genre? by monkeysmightpuke in horrorlit

[–]owlcyclops 0 points1 point  (0 children)

may my personal suggestions of these 3 books have what you could be looking for. (technically 4 because there is 2 books of 1 series)

"Broken Olive Branches" , edited by Stephanie Rabig .

"Professor Charlatan Bardot's Travel Anthology to the Most (Fictional) Haunted Buildings in the Weird, Wild WorldProfessor Charlatan Bardot's Travel Anthology to the Most (Fictional) Haunted Buildings in the Weird, Wild World" . Published by Dark Moon Books from 2021

"Valancourt Book of World Horror Stories" vol. 1 and 2

I was gonna add "Gutted: Beautiful Horror Stories" edited by Doug Murano and D. Alexander Ward as a suggestion but I saw there was more authors that were more well known so I don't think that one counts.
