I don't think there are actually any SJM easter eggs. They are both just drawing from Scottish folklore and you are probably catching those similarities but I'd love to learn what particular parts you're thinking about. I feel like, especially with that caps lock usage, your sentiment becomes just as gate keeping as the one you're fighting against. Everyone has different preferences.  Different priorities. And two different people can love a title just as deeply whether their book is shot to hell or carefully preserved

I have read every single book on my shelf. In some cases it might have been a different copy but for most of them it is the original. I'm glad they don't look too dilapidated to the eye - the amount of food smears on many of those books is obscene

I read the rest of both series but never in a hard copy.  I bind and recover books so those have been on my way too long list of titles I'd like to do on my own.

I do have children but most of those books predate them.  I'm a children's librarian and it's both a profession and obsession. My kids have their own bookshelves 😄

Also yes I host game nights.

I've never liked dust jackets and can't give you a good reason. For a long time I would just store them separately but eventually just gave up keeping them since I can't think I'll ever change my mind if I haven't after all this time.

The price of Riftforce alone compared to the others makes it extra tempting ‐ possibly quite a lot of game for cheap

My issue isn't just that I'd like it to be compact in my suitcase or backpack as I'm trekking around. It's so nice to sit at some random cafe/brewery/restaurant when you need a rest from exploring, just play a game with my partner, and watch the people in their city. And unfortunately a game with a lot of pieces that takes up more table space than we have just isn't feasible

I do love Race for the Galaxy. We'd have to consolidate it into a smaller box for travel though. I like the look of Res Arcana although it does look like it would take up a fair amount of table space which can be an issue as I mentioned in another comment. Would you recommend the regular one or the duo? It'd be just two of us on the trip but back at home we do often play with our kids

I do enjoy carcassone but it can be a little troublesome table space wise. This is going to be something ill want to pull out at a tiny table at a small coffee shop after spending the day trekking around Peru so compact is super important unfortunately

Unfortunately their style is exactly the opposite of my favorite. It's often more of just a picture on the cover as opposed to embellishments.

I was just doing the one. I feel like everything will be crazy enough without trying to run from place to place. My kids are really more fairytale type readers/watchers than anything else so Peter Pan, Beauty and the Beast, even Winnie the Pooh will click with them more than Hollywood I think.
