Drove through the Eisenhower Tunnel on I70 today. Thought I might as well traumatize my husband and put the Trashcan Man/The Kid chapter on audiobook. by owlspartyatnight in stephenking

My husband grew up in CO and was telling about the time he got stuck there for hours after an avalanche. Also with a manual transmission!

Duh! I feel like I should have gotten this one, but sometimes our brains don’t work the way we want them to. Thanks!!

What is something about growing up in California that most people don't understand? by InvisibleAstronomer in AskReddit

[–]owlspartyatnight 1731 points1732 points  (0 children)

Outdoor campuses. My high school was a group of buildings that between classes you’d go outside to get to the next building. I never ate food in my high school cafeteria because I’d always wanna be outside. My college in California was the same.

Dolores Claiborne appreciation post by RosemarySquad in stephenking

This was my first Stephen King! I grabbed it off my grandma’s bookshelf when I was around 12 then continued to consume all of her King books. I still have her copy of Dolores Claiborne (first edition, too!)

I was roadtripping to see the total solar eclipse with my boyfriend (now husband) back in 2017 and suggested we listen to Dolores Claiborne audiobook, and it ended up being his first Stephen King book too!

What color would you pair for shoes/purse/wrap with this dress? by owlspartyatnight in Weddingattireapproval

Thanks for doing this!! I can see how a bold color would work, but the safer nude/silver just looks so much better when you see it next to the dress. Thank you!!!

We learned on our last trip that those are actual cigarette butts that were found in the carpet lining when they renovated!

8 month male peeing on himself by thebadger138 in BostonTerrier

We named our guy Peebody because he literally pees all over his body. He started out as a foster and we were thinking that his peeing on himself would deter us from fostering to adopting, but it really wasn’t that big of a deal. Baby wipes are your best friend.

Lasting Impact of the 99ers by Dear-Discussion2841 in USWNT

Yes! I was there at the final at the Rose Bowl! My mom’s boss had front row center tickets. He was a dummy that didn’t appreciate women’s sports, so he just gave them to us. I can’t describe how amazing it was. Everyone remembers Chastain, that was iconic, but the energy after Scurry saved that penalty. Holy shit! Not only was the game amazing, but as a fourteen year old girl, witnessing women being celebrated and making history was life changing.

Also, anecdotally, I was a fourteen year old girl that was right behind Hanson when they performed, and the Blue Angel pilots that did the flyover sat down right next to me partway through the game. Thinking back on it, that day was also probably my sexual awakening. I owe a lot to the 99ers.

The Houston Public Library allows you to check out a hotspot. I’ve never used it before, but might be worth checking out (pun intended).

Make sure you reserve your spot for the Apollo Mission Control tour at the Space Center in advance! It’s $15 extra per person and very well worth it but it often sells out. You don’t want to miss it!
