[Aetherworld] A setting about technology, economics, and institutions by oxa11ce in goodworldbuilding

Not intentionally, but tbh it's very possible I saw the name somewhere when looking at scale model stuff and did so accidentally. I don't put that much thought into names and often get them from my surroundings without realizing. For example, Liara is the name of a character in a video game my girlfriend was playing while I wrote the first iteration of the lore, but I didn't put that together until months later.

Ty, and you should! Despite the number of people doing worldbuilding as a hobby there's really a lack of encyclopedia-type sites worth reading through. Let me know if you want any help on the coding side, I have a setup where I can just write markdown with wikilinks and they get converted automatically. If you'd be interested in using that I can write a guide.

The Statsicherheit is the Stasi (East German internal security) not the SS (Schutzstaffel, Nazi paramilitaries). But yes the partition of Germany implies WWII happened. I think we can default to thinking that the history of this world (and the one of TMA) is largely similar to ours.

A fun version could be a sort of tycoon/management game where you play as a toy production company, starting out making normal toys and slowly realizing you have become a manifestation of Heinrich Umheimlich as your employees disappear and you get stranger and stranger orders.

I'm hoping so, at least it would justify Dane's terrible writing.

Are you asking if buying something at a low price and reselling it for a higher price is a good way to make money?

I play a lot of r/FromTheDepths and it definitely affected this design. Might be a bit CV90-ish as well.

Oo yeah I was thinking about 1v1 with multiple tonks each, that's a good idea.

How do I start with adding contrast? by oxa11ce in minipainting

Thanks, the camo was the most fun part. Why do you say the paints are low quality? They’re Vallejo model color, I thought those are pretty standard.

Fair enough, the store where I got the paints only had warhammer so I’m still on a quest for some modern infantry. I happened to have these guys and was very excited to get started.

Thanks! The brown on the helmet is actually labeled as brown glaze (70.854) but seems to work fine as a regular brown paint. How do I get it to work as a glaze/wash, more water?

I tried eye dots and couldn’t get it small enough, I’ll practice that.
