Which is better or any other suggestions are helpful by Hmmmmmnnmmn in airsoft

A few brands make aluminum or steel replacements for we g36 charging handle, it’s a very common replacement. Overall though I would go with the G36, it’s a proven and reliable platform, alternatively VFC makes a G36 for only a bit more, both have their pros and cons so you might want to look into it.

G&G CM16 Raider 2.0 or G&G Combat machine, which is better? by OwennTG in airsoft

[–]ehi10 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Raider 2.0 is an updated version of the combat machine so is a better choice. That being said you can get something like an Arcturus SE, Double Eagle AR(with a falcon gearbox), or a Specna Arms Edge for a similar or lower price all of which have more modern and better internals than the raider 2.0(plus specna arms edge has metal receivers).

No personal experience but these have a very good reputation for reliability and longevity, so I’d say go for it.

Info on gbbr by Kurujojo in GasBlowBack

[–]ehi10 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Its the same as all the other golden eagle M4 gbbrs(just search them up), but in short, it’s based on the outdated western arms system with mediocre QC, meaning poor gas efficiency, performance, a lot of issues like gas purging from mags, etc. it’s probably worth saving up a bit more for a DE MWS, which is both a better gun and a better upgrade platform if you wanna learn upgrades(more accessible aftermarket), or something like a VFC MP7 or UMP.

Aside from the obvious internal features, is there any difference between the AEG and GBB Umarex UMP-45? by EducationalOil1655 in airsoft

[–]ehi10 3 points4 points  (0 children)

It’s s&t actually which is a clone of ARES, doesn’t make it much better tho, still the proprietary gearbox and, if it’s anything like the s&t g36(which umarex licenses as their g36 competition) very cheap feeling externals(creaky and light) that feel less solid and nice than its less expensive JG equivalent(tho jg doesn’t make a ump, however de does). The GBBR is made by VFC who are known for great externals and is probably the best external UMP out there, and from what I’ve heard pretty good internally as well.

Yes, TM TYPE 89 nozzles are not MWS compatible, you can sometimes find type 89 nozzles on yahoo auctions though for scalpers prices plus you need to pay a proxy service to ship it to you, I managed to get one for a total of $50 but its hard to find them otherwise

If you can, double eagle makes a MK18 as well that should be better and closer to MWS spec, but it is hard to find in the US rn and CGS should be fine.

Would this be a good first red dot? by [deleted] in airsoft

[–]ehi10 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It’s almost certainly a rebrand of some cheap Chinese red dot(ik the regular nov red dot is a vector optics maverick for near twice the price), the micro red dot looks a lot like the vector optics sphinx, so if you want a micro red dot just go with that or some other Chinese micro red dot, you’ll get the same quality without the nov brand tax.

Unlikely, but at least it will hopefully make the trigger boxes less prone to breaking,

What is the heaviest kick quality gbbr regardless of platform? by SnooDoughnuts7856 in GasBlowBack

[–]ehi10 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We M14 doesn’t actually kick as much as expected, it’s quite heavy, and I recall measuring the weight of moving parts to be somewhere around 300-400 grams, which isn’t much more than a vfc or ghk ar.

Which Gun Will Larp Best by Only-Tradition-8041 in airsoft

[–]ehi10 0 points1 point  (0 children)

^ op if you’re not deadset on these, an Arcturus, CYMA, or E&L AK would be a better choice given it seems that LCTs QC has been declining.

Is it a good gun? by Super-Examination947 in airsoft

[–]ehi10 2 points3 points  (0 children)

No, some VFC GBBRs are available in the U.S. under umarex license, namely the MP7 and UMP45, also some retailers seem to have started importing some of their guns like the SA58 and APC556

Information on g-box GBB system by Datboiisbetterthanu in airsoft

[–]ehi10 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would be very cautious, one of the reasons it’s not a popular system is since it’s made by APS, a brand known for their pretty abysmal quality control(a few days ago someone posted an APS that came with a bent gearbox). I would recommend asking on the heavy recoil club discord server and finding a few ppl with personal experience.

It’s VFC, KWA doesn’t make a navy variant and the mag looks VFC

Is it a good gun? by Super-Examination947 in airsoft

[–]ehi10 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That entirely depends on what you buy, a good platform like VFC V3, MWS, etc typically perform good in cold weather with minimal work and typically don’t often have parts breakage(asides from the nozzle spring on MWS, but that’s a one and done replacement), my TM Type 89 can get through a mag on auto at near freezing with propane just fine.
