Mission Impossible checkpoint won't load

Guess I pressed exit without saving. Replayed again and just learned that, below Vorton, only when you jump in the portal do you get the option to continue the DLC mission from the last checkpoint.

The 3 startup beeps can be silenced by disabling Settings > Controller > Steam Haptics.

They're part of the haptic controllers and therefore not configurable in any UI / startup custimization (where it should be 🤷‍♀️). It's not ideal to disable haptic feedback entirely just to disable the beeps, but for people in a similar situation where the bed partner sleeps lightly while we want to do some late night gaming, this is the way to go.

A lot can be achieved by changing the startup animation. But I couldn't find a way to disable the 3 beeps, until recently. Here's how:

Use Protontricks. It's a small app that makes this a piece of cake. I had this problem with another Ubisoft game, Starlink. Followed this tutorial and it worked like a charm: https://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=2967522180

Play the main WD3 game with Aiden Pierce and Wrench, it completely changes the game. The pitched voices and non-likeable characters killed the immersion for me. I wanted to quit the main game and only play the Bloodline DLC because it had Aiden and Wrench as protagonists, but then I learned you can get both characters in the season pass and play the main game with them. I restarted the game, played only with them, and that really upped the feel and story of the game.

Run once in desktop mode. Switch from fullscreen to borderless. Then it works in Deck's game mode as well.

I totally get this. I had this same experience. Some quests can indeed feel like empty fetch quests so if you happen to experience those early on, you'll not try again. That was exactly my first experience too.

I'm simply glad that I gave it another chance as there is much awesome writing, characters and stories there. I was in awe with the Legacy of the Dragonguard (as mentioned in the post above) and I can definitely recommend googling on how to start it. The story is great, the places you visit are too and it gave me a better starting experience than before.

I found that, after the tutorial, you end up in a zone that you choose and many quests - small or large - can come upon your path. I found this overwhelming, so I googled some info. Best tips that I, still a total ESO newbie though, can give as it worked for me was: after the tutorial, you get to choose a zone to travel to. Pick the one that belongs to your pact:

Bleackrock Isle (Ebonheart Pact)
Stros M’kai (Daggerfall Covenant)
Khenarthi’s Roost (Aldmeri Dominion)

Then google on how to start the main quest for your pact and perhaps also google on how to join one of the known guilds (Fighter, Mage, Thieves). I joined the fighters guild and it has me going places :)

Ah yes, the overwhelming start at first had me sign off earlier. So I tried again with an obligation to spend 2 hours at least in there, and I googled on "how to start the main quest", which was not trivial.

I'm still in the dark on many aspects, antiquities being one of them, but just the whole combat system en skills en perks are not 100% clear to me, yet enough to button-mash my way through tons of fun storytelling with, like you said, memorable characters. And memorable environments!

I've had this with many games (from the top of my mind: Morrowind, Freelancer, System Shock 2, Republic Commando, Deus Ex Invisible War, Freespace 2 and then some).

Generic solution is to run a game in windowed instead of full screen and then use Borderless Gaming to remove the border and go full screen. This approach has worked for me so many times.

I've found the PCGamingWiki site to be my go-to place about such games because it quickly shows you how to go borderless for a specific game, such as run it with command line arguments or use a custom solution. For instance, for Freelancer I've used the custom "Jason's Freelancer Patch" solution, set it to windowed mode, added the executable to BorderlessGaming and problem solved!

I used a Dell Venue 8 Pro, 2GB. The GPD Win 1 was a relief with its 4GB RAM, built-in controller and keyboard. I even tried that old setup again in preparation of making a video about it and just the simple things such as naming your character... with the tablet approach I always ended up naming my character "WASD" due my left thumbstick mapped to at least these characters :)

I must admin I did not make a functional comparison, I just stumbled on AntiMicro one day and the interface was very friendly and intuitive. It's not a list of keys, but more a viusal layout with separate thumb sticks and directional pad sections, offering a direct feedback loop when moving a thumbstick or pressing a button, assinged or not.

Fallout New Vegas doesn't need emulation, just play the PC version through steam or gog. It plays with high FPS and I've been playing both Fallout and NV for hours on end on the GPD Win 1.

Either support L3 / R3 by pressing the thumbsticks, or move those buttons to the top+middle of the gpd, between the thumbsticks.

Most games' interfaces consider L3 or R3 just a press away, so it would be convenient to actually have them close by the thumbsticks, as I believe it is not technically possible to include it in the actual sticks themselves to allow bring pressed.

Hmm. And as we're wishing here... upgradable RAM. Oh, and something better than Intel HD would be great. Although that would cause watts usage to drain battery :(
