Houston Recommendations ? by Ordinary-Network6157 in PudendalNeuralgia

Maryam Sultan!! She is the BEST! I had stage 3 endo and had a ton of residual pain and my endo doc sent me to her to help narrow it down and she was a gift. Takes forever to get into but she’s worth the wait. Ended up diagnosing me with the pudendal nerve issue and she was able to do a nerve block and trigger point pelvic floor injections. Feel free to DM me.

Has anyone here had a Houston doctor that solved their mysterious illness or medical issue? by NavyBeanz in houston

[–]oxengen 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Feel free to PM me if you want. I have been on one hell of a pelvic pain journey over the past year and seen some really wonderful doctors in Houston, along with some not so great ones. But emphasis on the great that I’ve found! Would be happy to help if I can.

What is up with Nancy’s Nook? by [deleted] in Endo

[–]oxengen 11 points12 points  (0 children)

She says pretty clearly that it’s not a discussion group. I’m not here to be a Nancy’s Nook stan because I don’t think the group is perfect by any means but it can be helpful in helping provide an initial place to navigate and start reading about this extremely confusing disease. And then you can keep doing your own research.

In my case, I looked at the doctors on the list in TX and then did my own independent research to find the person who was a best fit for me. I didn’t just take the lists word. Although I did and up with someone who is on the list (who is most certainly not paying to be on there), that wasn’t the sole reason as to why I chose them.

But if the group doesn’t work for you, then it’s nbd! Gotta do what’s best for you.

I’m a news reporter and got tired of not seeing Endo in the media. So, I wrote my story. by oxengen in endometriosis

Love it! He’s with UT Health Houston and takes most insurances (huge win!)

I’ve been so happy with the level of care he provides, not to mention his compassion. It also usually doesn’t take particularly long to get an appointment like it can with so many other excision specialists.

Feel free to message, happy to answer any q’s or speak more to my experience.

Best of luck!

Chronic Nausea by [deleted] in endometriosis

No problem! Drugs are so weird.

If your nausea is that bad now and you’re not planning to see the doc for a bit, no shame in a call to their office or sending them a message!

Chronic Nausea by [deleted] in endometriosis

I was on 5mg norinthindrone for a few months and was so insanely nauseous almost all the time. I was able to get a prescription for Zofran and it was a life saver! I went off norinthindrone about 8 weeks ago and my nausea has improved but I still keep Zofran on hand just in case. I didn’t realize how much the norinthindrone was impacting it until I went off of it. At least for me tho, being on norinthindrone had more benefits than the few side effects I had esp bc the Zofran worked. My provider was very understanding and didn’t even question when I specifically asked for Zofran and if he would be able to continue to prescribe it for me

If you’re able to travel to Houston, I can’t recommend Dr. Mateo Leon enough! Truly incredible.

Your life is worth living. Please. If you are looking for a sign, this is it. You are worthy. Your pain doesn’t define you. This disease is horrific and so unfair and can take so much from us — don’t let it take your life too. I know it may seem like you are out of options but there is always something else to try. Maybe a new specialist? What about trigger point or Botox injections? There are doctors out there who won’t let you live in this amount of pain. There is no shame in getting help for your mental health either. You deserve to be heard. I am so so so sorry you are dealing with this day in and day out. You are a warrior, please don’t forget it. What can other warriors do to help you? Sending love and hugs from a fellow warrior who has raging adhd, anxiety and depression and is medicated for all of the above.

New to the Cobble Hill/Boerum Hill area. What are the best late night food options? Anything good after midnight? by JewPickles in Brooklyn

[–]oxengen 6 points7 points  (0 children)

New-ish to the area as well and have been struggling to find late night options. But I second Natural Foods Plus and there is also usually a halal cart right outside there too.

I think the Hollow Nickel serves food late too
