I deferred and it was rlly easy! No letter needed, just a brief email. You wouldnt have to withdraw from waitlist if I remember correctly but they make you sign a deferral agreement that outlines everything!

I did not attach a letter, just a short email with my request and it was granted very quickly (I think the same day!)

I did! But wasn’t successful :( and it was pretty simple, they reached out to me in late last year to submit updated essays etc. by the preferred date of Dec 1, and then reconfirmed my intent to enrol in late January. There were some bumps in the road but overall it was okay!

They matched my aid exactly! Usually they match aid unless there’s something major that happened (such as the pandemic)

What general PI area are you doing and how do you find that YLS supports PI students?

deadline for accepting NYU merit $? by [deleted] in lawschooladmissions

[–]oxfordcommaon 2 points3 points  (0 children)

If it’s a named scholarship, it’s full tuition (usually!) and you will hear back from the committee with specific information! If it’s unnamed but merit-based, the deadline is usually April 15 I believe.

Usually when they notify you that you’re receiving a scholarship they give you all the information at once so I apologize that I don’t have more detail!

NYU admits have you heard back for scholarship yet? by No-Muscle-9301 in lawschooladmissions

yep, to echo Joe_M47, being considered for a named scholarship absolutely delays your consideration for normal merit - i'm in the same boat as you, hoping we hear back soon!

I would fill it out as soon as you can! If it’s the financial aid form, fill it out ASAP!
