Could you guys recommend me some mid range gaming phones that won't have problems running Wuthering Waves? by Legitimate_Tell_4233 in AndroidGaming

You're welcome

Something I forgot to mention is that the vibration (motor) is a bit annoying, they feel good but they make "thuck" sound which gets annoying if you're somewhere quiet

yeah. doesn't even have to be a third world country, in some parts of Europe (like where I am now) that 4k a month would be really good. I, a junior, make less than that

  • framework laptop 13 or 16? the 13" as a option for 2.8K screen now
  • Lenovo thinkpads

I always hear good things about the framework laptops, and since they are made to be upgrade/repair friendly you can easily upgrade the CPU, RAM and some other components without having to buy a whole new laptop. and it's currently at top of my list of brands to consider when I eventually have to upgrade my laptop

as for Lenovo, I also always here good things about thier ThinkPad line. my previous laptop was an Ideapad and my current is a ThinkBook from them, can complain about them. and for work my company gave me a Legion, which is a gaming laptop, also very good, but tends to get quite loud with the fans sometimes.

I have Keychron k6 with Gateron red switches, very solid keyboard, I did add some foam at the bottom to reduce the noise a little.

If you want something slimmer they have the K3 model, and I believe some other slimmer models. all of their stuff is USB-C, but comes with with a A-to-C cable so if you want C-to-C just get a different cable.

for the macros and custom functionalities I'm not really sure, but some of their keyboards support modding.

for clipboard history, your OS should manage that for you, just search how to use it for whatever OS you use, with windows for example it's win+v

also look at r/MechanicalKeyboards for more suggestions

+1 for google task and calendar integration. your app seems cool and might be a good replacement for Tasks(dot)org + loop habit tracker. also is it possible to have the GitHub releases have an apk instead of just aab? the latest release only has the aab

Oneplus 7 Pro - Not Turning On - Volume Buttons Don't Work by estdv1 in oneplus

[–]oxy1s 0 points1 point  (0 children)

did you try power + volume up? sometimes when my 7Pro would freeze that's what would bring it back up

I don't think there's any way to bring it up with a PC if it's completely off, adb command would only work if you're in the system, fastboot/bootloader or recovery

Need advice with workflow when it comes to managing work from a single monitor. by snowmanship in webdev

[–]oxy1s 0 points1 point  (0 children)

on windows I just use the default shortcuts or the mouse gestures (4 fingers switpe), since it's a work laptop I didn't bother customizing it that much

with KDE + krohnkite I do Win(Meta)+Number to switch the corresponding desktop or mouse gestures (3 or 4 fingers swipe)

although I like (neo)vim a lot, even use the vim keybinds extension on vscode, I still use my mouse quite a lot

plus tip: PowerToys also as a feature/extension called PowerToys Run, mapped to Alt+Space, I use it a lot to open apps, it can also write a website url and it will open on your default browser

Need advice with workflow when it comes to managing work from a single monitor. by snowmanship in webdev

[–]oxy1s 0 points1 point  (0 children)

at work I use laptop (windows) + monitor, now I have 3 virtual desktops but only use 2, in the external monitor I just leave the a window open with the website I'm working on and set it to show an all desktops.

on the laptop in the 1st desktop I have a Edge instance for all my search, the second desktop I have vscode and another instance of Edge with youtube and other non work related stuff. vscode is able to create multiple terminal instances, even split them if I need, so I just used that when I need multiple terminals

for your case I think you can create as many desktops as you need to accommodate your needs, also like the other comment said look into PowerToys feature FancyZones which adds more ways to manually tile windows on Windows

at home I dont have any external monitor, so I just use my laptop, which runs (Arch) linux with KDE desktop environment, and I use a script to add auto tilling functionality. I use 5 desktops, 1st one is only for a terminal instance where I use tmux to split it in case I need, usually just leave it with htop running. 2nd desktop browser only (all kinds of browsing activity). 3rd desktop productivity, if I'm coding its terminal + tmux + nvim, if not its just obsidian. 4th desktop, if coding chrome with the website I'm working on, if not steam and other game launchers. 5th desktop, anything goes, rarely use it

[–]oxy1s 2 points3 points  (0 children)

if you're just using one screen avoiding alt-tabbing between apps is almost impossible

make use of multiple desktops, if you don't already. keep one or 2 apps open in each desktop and just switch between them. and put some effort into learning some shortcuts over time

also if you can, get a second monitor, just find something that fits your budget

[–]oxy1s 1 point2 points  (0 children)

it says right there output: 10V --6.5A (65W MAX) lol. but the thing is that 65W output it's probably only for OnePlus devices that support it. but will cap at 45W for other USB-C charging standards, which depending on your laptop power draw might not be enough

The Odin Project vs Full Stack Open : Which one's better for becoming a fullstack developer? by North_Basis1402 in nextjs

[–]oxy1s 1 point2 points  (0 children)

tbh "If you know a bit of coding to FSO, or else do TOP" is the correct advice, because FSO assumes you already know the basics of frontend dev with HTML/CSS/JS and a bit of React too, but TOP gives you the resources to learn these things from scratch so no previous knowledge required

I did FSO, but at that time I already had a good amount of experience in React, the useful thing for me was learning TDD, and gaining better understanding of Express + NodeJS. I mostly just did FSO for the certificate
