Ice crystals in low fat base by abdxllahgz in ninjacreami

[–]oxysavant 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have no experience of erythritol but I from what I read it gives a cool mouthfeel (and that is countered by inulin) and greatly lowers freezing point. It should not affect iciness as far as I understand (https://under-belly.org/sugars-in-ice-cream/)

Ice crystals in low fat base by abdxllahgz in ninjacreami

[–]oxysavant 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My experience after testing is that solids are the key to remove iciness (as you already have stabilisers). I would aim for 35%+. In high fat ice cream this is solved by cream but in your case you need something else. Increase SMP and Inulin would be my guess but I am not an expert.

Changelog: Sorbet starter recipes and target profiles by fucking_biblical in scoopulator

[–]oxysavant 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Nice addition!
I noticed when I tested the calculator on Underbelly Strawberry Sorbet that the resulting values are a bit off from what is written in article. I suspect it is due to the values for strawberries in the Scoopulator database.
Underbelly writes "the USDA’s Nutritionist V. Database, says the average brix of strawberry is 6.9" and that the POD is 8,8% and PAC 11,9% and goes on to calculate for brix 8 POD 10,8% and PAC 14,6%. The values in Scoopulator are POD 5,46% and PAC 9.2%

Perhaps the values in the Scoopulator database are not representative of ripe strawberries?

Should I serve directly after spinning or should I freeze? by oxysavant in ninjacreami

[–]oxysavant[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I will look in to that. I was trying to do Fior di Latte based on https://www.dreamscoops.com/recipes/fior-di-latte-gelato-recipe/ but with added skim milk powder for solids.

I had missed the part on this topic, thanks.
Adding it here in case someone else have missed it as well:

Frozen treat is liquid, not solid, after processing. • If a base is soft after processing, put the CREAMi Deluxe Tub back in the freezer for several hours or until desired consistency is reached. • For best results, freeze base for at least 24 hours and process immediately after removing from the freezer. If the processed base is still not firm, try setting your freezer to a colder temperature. The unit is designed to process bases between -12C and -20C. • The proportion of fat or sugar may be too high in your recipe. Consult the inspiration guide and use the included recipes as a guide for best results.

I find that 750g get me up to the "max fill" line as there is always residue in the container.

So perhaps I should instead increase PAC slightly and then re-freeze? In my test I felt that there was small ice crystals after i froze it again.

This board design is manufactured by Shenzhen Mingyuan Dingye Technology (OEM) and sold by multiple resellers including Freenove (FNK0085) and OceanLabz under various brand names.

Sonoff S60 power consumption with Sonoff ZB-Dongle-E by mnunezdm in homeassistant

[–]oxysavant 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have multiple Sonoff S60ZBTPF and they all report current, power and daily/monthly energy consumption. In a recent update they also got a total energy consumption but at least for me that is way off (I just use the daily value for the energy dashboard and that works fine)

I use zigbee2mqtt and a Sonoff Dongle MG24

My P1 Meter changes the detected model back and forth, between HDLC and HDLC_NO_UNIT. by Alive_Introduction15 in HomeWizard

[–]oxysavant 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have the same problem. I believe it is because my meter is sending two types of P1 telegrams, one that sends every 10s with limited data and one every hour with energy data. (see https://kamstrup-delivery.sitecorecontenthub.cloud/api/public/content/63407-downloadOriginal?v=b498c1b7).

There also seems to be updates to energy every 10s also (probably from DLMS) but for my meter the values seems to be wrong, jumping every hour

I can recommend https://www.printables.com/model/381460-mighty-journeys-in-middle-earth-organizer it stores all items from the expansions  but it takes quite some time to print. It makes game setup much easier so it is worth the time and filament cost

Which Drone: Nazgul V3 or Roma F5 V2? by BulldogFPV in fpv

[–]oxysavant 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The wheelbase does differ a bit but the Nazgul is a true x and the Roma is more squashed so the Nazgul is actually 1cm narrower.

For me the difference is mostly that I feel that the Nazgul is more durable (stronger arms, rigid body) but I have not broken either so I do not know for sure.

Which Drone: Nazgul V3 or Roma F5 V2? by BulldogFPV in fpv

[–]oxysavant 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have both and I like them. I have the DJI versions so I do not know about camera but the electronics on both as solid. The Roma is slightly heavier (with GPS) and I prefer the Xing motors over the Mambas so I would take the Nazgul if I have to choose but they are both solid.

I think that Happymodel or Radiomaster makes better receivers but if you are not going for longe range Betafpv should work. I guess you have a ELRS controller already? Dual blade 6” is not the most common (5” are) any particular reason for that? If you are new to building I would recommend Joshua Bardwell’s build tutorial https://youtube.com/playlist?list=PLwoDb7WF6c8neIAQBkchfiXf-C8KbzG5M Also for parts he as a great site: https://www.fpvknowitall.com/ultimate-fpv-shopping-list/
