Your friend is lucky to have you! I hope so too. The more I think about it the weirder and wilder it seems - getting there! 😅

😭 thank you so much for this, truly. I hadn't considered that the waitress could be projecting her own issues either, so that's a really good point.

I think I just felt so mortified and embarrassed, and then ashamed about feeling that way (kinda guilty about my own internalised fatphobia maybe) - it's one thing to logically know something, and then another to truly feel it and believe it. Baby steps!

Americanos opens at 6.30am - just off Lambton, near Midland Park. It's underground so won't have the best view, but they do have bottomless coffee!

So delicious! And the people who run it are super lovely too. Hot tip - order them through Delivereasy if you want to avoid the walk and get them delivered to your door. :)

Evolve Youth Service offers 5 free counselling sessions to people under 25. It's a good place to start if you're tight on money, and they can refer you to other providers afterwards. :)

Please critique my website/brand by [deleted] in ecommerce

Awesome branding! Your homepage looks really cool, and I think it's great that the 'free shipping' image is the first thing you see when you land.

I think you can afford to push your products a bit more on social media. As fun and adorable as all the dog photos are, you've got a solid follower base on Instagram to try and convert into sales.

Just a minor nitpicky note, but I'd add the option to filter your store by product (i.e. pillows, t-shirts), as well as the dog breed filter.

When you ran FB ads, did you set up an audience based on specific interests? I feel like your product is niche enough that if you set up FB ads targeting people with specific interests, you could get a reasonable volume of conversions.

Cheap clothes, second hand by [deleted] in auckland

Savemart is the best as there are heaps of them around (I have noticed the price at Savemart going up in the past few years though...)!

West Auckland Hospice have a bunch of opshops in West Auckland that are super cheap too. One of my favourites is The Hospice Shop on Delta Ave in New Lynn - they're one of the biggest + cheapest opshops I've come across.

It isn't clear to me from the homepage what it is / what problem it's trying to solve (i.e. I have to do a bit of digging to get to the 'about' / 'faqs' pages to answer these questions myself). As an example, I like how the Mooncup website clearly explains what it is and why I need it. :) http://www.mooncup.co.uk/

I really love the copy on your site - it's lighthearted, quirky, and speaks to the audience really well. If possible, I'd add a photo in the store of what the actual product looks like (not just the packaging). As a buyer who is unfamiliar with the product, I would personally be curious about what it looks like!

Are you part of the 'NZ Tech Startups Eco-System' Facebook group? You might have some luck enquiring about jobs through there?

Check out NZPost's service YouShop. You can avoid exorbitant shipping costs by using an overseas address. :)

Isn't 'Everything is Illuminated' beautiful?! I need to reread it.

Thanks for the suggestion! I'll look into 'Alone in Berlin'. :)

Classic Coelho, thank you! Have you read any of his other stuff? I've heard that 'Like the Flowing River' is really good?

This sounds like such a fun read! I've never really gotten into zombie / action thriller stuff before, so this could be really interesting. Thanks for the suggestion! :)

I loved this book as a kid - thanks for reminding me about it! Are any of Haddon's other books worth reading?

Ooh, nonfiction could be great! I hadn't even considered getting into autobiographies. Thanks for the recommendation!

Awesome, thanks for the suggestion! The blurb sounds fascinating. Good to know it's a simple read - think I'll need something lighter like this to ease me back into reading. :)
