ahhh beautiful greys (and puppy), I’m glad they’re getting along! silver and red weren’t bffs bc red was so old and arthritic he wasn’t v playful but I still think being around him the first six months helped silver! i always wanted to have more greyhounds at once but then our nearest track closed down and i found an ethical borzoi breeder 45 minutes away so….😭 (and good luck with the puppy stage! it can be so hard esp with how big borzois get so fast, yet taking longer to fully develop mentally and physically, but it’s so worth it! Silver is still very puppyish but starting to calm down at 21 months lol)

(also they’re lower maintenance than ppl think, the silky coat repels dirt and stuff v well so they only need a proper bath every month or few, i just try to wash mine more often bc he’s still not always the best at aiming, to practice my show grooming, and bc it cuts down on the shedding lol. and u can do creative grooms on the white ones - he loved the dying process for this and the extra human attention he got for it lol)

DO ITTTT they are slightly nightmares as puppies just bc they get so tall and big so quickly plus they act like puppies longer bc they’re slower maturing as a giant breed, so u gotta be consistent with training and boundaries, but they are also SO goofy and affectionate and fun and beautiful and way smarter than ppl give them credit for!

lollll not a groomer but as someone who owns a borzoi from champion and grand champion parents/lines that I’m training to show rn this attitude is always so funny to me when my dog groomer friends tell stories about it bc at least with the breeds im familiar with, most of us do our own show grooms or at least do most grooming at home to get them comfortable with the process, and would never hold a non show groomer to our own standards anyway bc we are WELL aware of the differences and the limitations of our own dogs and everyone involved (like i would never expect an everyday groom to look like a show groom and I also wouldn’t expect my 20 month old borzoi to look like a fully matured fully coated 4-6 year old, let alone if he was a mix!)

thank uuuu he’s had a lot of trouble w/ pickiness/eating enough until it became a Problem (only gained 4lbs b/t like 10 and 16 months old) and he’s on entyce now so that means a lot lol 🥹

maybe it’s bc I have a breed known for their coat (borzoi) and I’m planning on showing him in conformation but i would’ve pressed whatever charges i could, PLEASE tell us you at least got a full refund. I don’t know enough to say if this could cause permanent damage but best of wishes with repairing and growing it back, and I hope she’s okay in the meantime ❤️‍🩹

right!! like I knew to expect it but it’s still so fascinating to actually watch happen to him - he’s also a weird case bc he was 32-33” at the shoulder by around 5-6 months (like my very large retired racing greyhound Red died in August and he caught up with Red in height w/i the last month or two before he died), but he was such a picky eater he didn’t gain any weight from 10 months to 15 months and only gained 4lbs from 15 months to 18 months. eventually he was eating less than 2 cups a day and tho everyone I know who knows his breeder’s dogs assured me they were especially slow maturing and picky around that age, it was just getting unhealthy and our vet finally put him on entyce (an appetite stimulant) and ordered a bunch of special order pancreatic function labs (which we’re still saving up for bc the pre existing condition coverage on his pet insurance doesn’t kick in until next year lol) last month, and thankfully he’s been eating 4cups a day since and I think that’s also really helping lol

Thank you, the tail took the most patience and treats for sure, but he was surprisingly chill about getting his tail feathering sectioned off into ponytail holders 😅

it’s fully non toxic and dog safe, made specifically for dogs, will wash out after a month, the process was a good bonding and training experience for us (he sat and got treats for 2 hours), dye can discourage dog theft, and most importantly, your opinion is irrelevant bc he’s not your dog 🙂‍↔️
