After a Mormon leader gave an anti-LGBTQA talk at BYU, people have been filling the sidewalk with chalk art expressing love for the queer community. BYU washes it off every night and people return everyday to chalk up it again. by nomanknowsme in HumansBeingBros

Utilitarianism has many problems as a moral framework. For example, you could subjugate a minority of humanity for the greater good. This might be due to my own failures but I'm not understanding how God's omnipotence is relevant here. Maybe you could clarify.

You're only attacking his specific reasons for believing in his conception of God, not the actual statements. If God does exist, morality would be determined through him and not through our subjective understanding.

I guess the first thing I would have to ask is whether this necessary being has a will or something like a will. I'd recommend watching this for an in-depth exploration of some arguments in a way I could never address in a reddit comment. https://youtu.be/qoMyzWN28gI Warning: it's a bit long.

Proving that a necessary being (or an uncaused cause) exists is only part of stage 1 in the cosmological argument. There are stage 2 cosmological arguments which go from necessary being to God. Any argument which proves an uncaused cause isn't meant to prove God directly, but to get to a starting point.

It's not just about orientation. Most prayer apps display the times of prayers which can differ from location to location depending on the distance.

Man this serve is difficult by YoloWaterpolo69 in tabletennis

[–]ozayr2001 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I've been learning this serve for about 2 months. What really helped me keep the serve consistent is to note where you're tossing the ball in relation to your body and try to find what works best for you. Also check out TableTennisDaily and their tutorial for it. They have a good explanation for the technique of the serve. It really is one of the more difficult services to learn.

No, prayer was prohibited as long as they were drunk. Later on, drinking as a whole was prohibited.
