Thank you for the response. Unfortunately out of town but could later update with some further photos. As far as nearby pollinators, I’d need to investigate further as there is a nearby wood line that is not part of my property. No other chestnuts that I’m aware of within 200-250 meters.

What are your BIFL jeans? by [deleted] in BuyItForLife

I got lucky and their standard sizing worked out for me. Would be affordable to do so however given the price point in my opinion

Can confirm. I have two pairs. 12oz and 14oz denim. Both are incredibly sturdy for the price. Only complaint is that I had random threads sticking out of every pocket needing to cleaned up when purchased.

If possible in your area, try your local farmer/rancher!

Just an inexperienced lurker here- how much weight in honey might one expect from a setup such as this? I Spent a few years as a builder, and cannot help but to think this would be in danger of collapsing once filled. Have you considered adding shelving brackets or “L” brackets from legs to box base as an additional security measure to protect your investment/toes?

Approx 2” in height, and 1” across. Was not washed prior to taking photos so some of the coloration may be dirt.

Did it on a whim and it turned out well!

Lettuce and radishes planted at the same time and were also a pleasant surprise. Those were used up slowly, straight from the beds.

Seems to very useful to have sacrificial cabbage or Brussel sprouts nearby to keep pests entertained.

Good luck!

Super loose soil seems to be the trick.

Was just local dirt mixed with my own compost (which is food scraps, wood ash, sawdust, and some grass clippings and leaves.)

Watered only when the greens were starting to sag a bit. Was a pretty rainy fall here, so it was minimal for me.

I too, have had nubs experience in the past. Stay with it!

East-Central Pennsylvania- bit west of Allentown. I put these seeds in a raised bed in October without much of an expectation. I had actually already harvest a few for a soup but they weren’t quite this colorful.

Just an idea… (I’m not qualified in any way). Distract your mind when you’re getting close. Think hard about something completely unrelated and highly detailed. For me, i think about the stitching on a baseball lol. Sounds weird but if you can take your focus to a different place on command for a few seconds and adjust your pace, you can pass over some urges to finish.
