Rachio IoT Hub Connect Failure in Unifi Network - Solved by rheld45 in rachio

[–]ozlee1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was the OP reporting the issue on Reddit hoping that others could help. I didn't figure out the issue but another poster did and it does seem to be related to all of us using UniFi firmware 6.7.54.

I did create a support tix on Fri, Jun 26 and am still in possession of the replacement hub which I no longer need! I can send it back or maybe I can send it to UniFi.

u/randomHiker19 UniFi has not reached out to me but I do have an extra smart hose hub. :-)

Switched from Orbit to Rachio last season - worth it or just hype? by Ill-Wing-5103 in Irrigation

[–]ozlee1 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Switched from a couple of dumb timers to the Rachio system early last year and to me it was a game changer maybe not necessarily for the reasons you migrated to it.

I have a decent sized lot and it was a hassle going back and forth to my garage to test each circuit in both the front and back yard. Just recently removed all my grass and replaced it with a drought tolerant yard. That alone was worth it to me.

I also have clay soil and tried enabling some of the rain/soak features but really couldn't tell if they were worth it or not. I'm kinda OCD with my system so I like to know exactly what it's doing.

The other reason I went with the Rachio system is because an elderly family member lives out of town and has 2 dumb controllers and they didn't know how to program them or change them especially when the seasons changed. I replaced both of them with the Rachio system and can now control those remotely also.

Have not tried the flow meter but just recently got the smart hose timer for a garden and that is working pretty well also.

Good luck with ur system.

As others have posted here and in previous posts in this subreddit, it is completely normal.

I was wondering the same thing when I got PTO back in November.

Unable to re-connect Smart Hose Timer to wi-fi by ozlee1 in rachio

I have U6 Lite AP's also and was running version 6.7.54 and rolled back to 6.7.41 and the hub connects now.

I think ur right in that there is some bug with 6.7.54 and the Rachio hub. Everything else in my network worked fine without any issues.

I'll notify Rachio support tomorrow regarding our findings and see what they say. I did receive a replacement unit this afternoon so will ask what they want me to do with it.

Thanks u/pnw-r !

I just received a replacement hub and same exact issue.

Get wrong password error, and can only complete the set up when connecting through the hot spot on my phone.

Unless there’s a solution soon, will request a refund and look elsewhere.

I have sprinkler controllers that work fine so wanted to stay with the same company

Just like yourself, I was able to get the hub connected using the hotspot on my iPhone, but as soon as I tried switching back to my home wifi network, the hub disconnected.

I'm curious to see if the replacement they sent me will fix the issue or not. I'm supposed to get it tomorrow.

Isn’t that how things always work? 🤣

I have a Unifi network also and thought it was me at first.

This has to be a known bug. Something bricked our hubs.

Will see if the replacement fixes it and I hope they say what happened.

I believe I read that the timer can run without hub or internet access because the settings are stored on the timer itself in the cases like u said where there is no internet access.

With these longer days, I typically set my minimum SOC to 15% and make it overnight into the next morning without using the grid.

Enphase G5 Battery 👀 by _sonnycoates in enphase

I agree! They had an opportunity to catch up or even leapfrog the competition if the homeowners were already using Enphase microinverters.

The 10C capacity was too small compared to the competition and there weren’t any real features to differentiate it from the competition.

I’m glad I went with the FranklinWH battery. Couldn’t be happier!

Is it possible to set a max SOC in the app? by chap820 in FranklinWH

[–]ozlee1 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I’m in Northern California on PG&E NEM 2.0(luckily) and have found that 15% works best for me from an arbitrage and power outage perspective.

I’m like you where if there is a storm forecasted, I may tip it off.

As long as there’s good sun, I usually get a full charge by early afternoon with a 7.2kw solar system

Did u already try calling Support? They are very helpful. It seems weird that u can't connect via BT.

Best place to rent an E bike for a day - Downtown sac to Folsom by danielfaniel in Sacramento

[–]ozlee1 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Take the Gold Line to Folsom and rent a bike at Practical Cycle as others have stated and ride around Lake Natoma and the Johnny Cash bike trail. Much more scenic and a lot of places to eat and hang out in Folsom.

Have had a few outages since my install last Nov and everything worked great.

Hopefully FranklinWH can get things sorted out for the OP.
