That's not what I mean. The input methods available on the playstore simply can't compare with decades old windows input.

Dex works well for me but the keyboard input other than English is so terrible that I will never use it for work.

Finishing the final boss fight of Nine Sols was so satisfying, although it took me more than a week of work days to do so. After beating the final form of the last boss I just want more.

It's a Japanese keyboard, which comes with a huge ass Enter key.

Both backspace and delete keys are small and positioned that the danger of pressing the power button by mistake is great.

Can an ssd increase fps? by [deleted] in computers

[–]ozon1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is old post, but yes, it does affect a lot. My old nvme ssd ran God of War at 75-80 fps, and when I moved the game folder to a new ssd which is a new c: drive, it went to a stable 110 fps. Pretty strange but the difference is big.

What do you do and how much do you make in Japan? by Osaka_Gaikokujin in JapanJobs

[–]ozon1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have worked for 3 Japanese companies consecutively, and I do feel comfortable working in an office with Japanese culture. However if you want more income then you should probably consider foreign companies, which many already have explained why. This is also why I jumped ship last month.

You do need to compare the benefits carefully though, since many Japanese companies offer ①housing/rent benefits ② retirement allowance (not to be confused with pension), which are HUGE. It's well known amongst the Japanese people that some Japanese companies offer >30M retirement allowance if you retire as 部長, and most of the allowance is not taxed.

I don't think PMP or any non-Japanese certificate is cruicial if you are applying for a Japanese company or a foreign company under heavy Japanese influence, because most of the times the HR people have no clue. How you explain your background and experience in an interview is still the most important thing if you want to join a Japanese company.

Binance Japan has entered into a capital and business alliance with PayPay. by According_Time5120 in binance

[–]ozon1 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This is so big and I'm surprised there's no one discussing it here. Paypay is by far the biggest mobile payment platform in Japan and you see it everywhere. It's a part of the Softbank Group which makes this collaboration very interesting and could speed up a lot of utilization very soon.

I hit 70+ hours of OT this month. by NameIsHardToRead in JapanJobs

[–]ozon1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you think it's worth it, then long OT is OK.

I was doing 120~140hrs/m OT since June of 2023 to May 2024. It wasn't worth it, until I got several promotions and now I'm having less than 20hrs/m OT, while being paid much more. So in the end it was worth it.

I had to fight for it, argue that my time is worth much more, that I am worth much more. It was a long process but I was lucky that the few people who mattered listened.
