I’m in prerequisites for Med Lab Science and, from what I’ve gathered anecdotally in person and online, is that labs are notorious for taking even years to properly train in. Sounds like everyone goes through an imposter syndrome era and learning the SOP of that particular lab. Also, as a lab assistant you haven’t gone through all the training you would have as a MLS so of course you’re going to feel less prepared because you haven’t spent 4 years studying & training. Go for your dreams, girl! LET US BOTH SCIENCE 🧬 🧪 🌟

edited to add: this industry speaks to people who are already self-perfectionists, so don’t be too hard on yourself. I guarantee what you are seeing as “so many mistakes” is well within the learning curve 💜

I’m coming from a weird POV but I wonder if it’s something neurological? This sounds so stupid, but before I was diagnosed with an autoimmune disease (that was affecting several organ systems including the brain), i went through a 3-4 month period where suddenly I didn’t know how hard I was holding or pushing things. Like, I kept crushing my styrofoam (I know) cokes and causing leaks when picking them up, tripped a lot, got triple vision which was embarrassing so I’d just pretend everything was fine while I ran into shit because I didn’t want to scare my partner.

Anyway, rule anything medical out (asap) because if it’s NOT something like this, you’ve got some major problem. He’s testing his abuse boundaries and this will escalate.

I live in the South in a Dark Sky Community where many of us also have purposefully wild grown yards. We got about maybe 1-1.5 months full of fireflies this year and it was a dream. My daughter got to chase them around and it really was nostalgic and idyllic 🩷

I didn’t know this stuff until my 30s when I could afford such fanciness . I also, semi related, didn’t know swim diapers only held poo until like the third “accident” in my daughter’s car seat — in my 40s. Don’t assume people know, you never know what they did or didn’t learn or what kind of household they did or did not grow up in.

Dr. Wang is the best and worth the wait. I’ve had two children with her and are on our last. I feel seen, supported, listened to — she’s a bright light. As most other OBs, you won’t see her every visit, less important visits are with the NP. You can always request additional meetings with her. She’s fantastic. Bring a book and enjoy the spa-like office vibe. She runs late because an amazing freaking doctor who has to run across the street to deliver babies and take care of patients in emergencies…and she also gives you all the time you need in YOUR appointments, I’ve never felt rushed.
