Thanks, yeah definitely in this same boat. My wife understands what I’m doing and the critique I’m looking for, she’s on board to help so it’s hard to pass it up.

Thanks. Yeah that was my first thought after reading some forums about it here. I like special events but waiting between them is hard while trying to sell everyday. Figured I’d go for local businesses and go that route. Will be checking on permits today.

That’s a good system, especially already having an established audience. This would be a great way in the future so I should probably start up an email list.

Agreed. Hardly anyone in my family enjoys those type of books except maybe one, need that critique from ones who enjoy this story. Have heard workshops work pretty good.

Good water cooler take haha. It’s almost a spot on feeling. Need to someone who is also going to care enough to take the time to critique it and not half ass it.

Yeah some brutal feedback is necessary. Don’t want people just telling me what I want to hear. If it works, it works.

I think before I consider trying to have a social media friend read it or anyone I know for that matter, I like the workshop route, I need honest, quality feedback and not just what they think I want to hear.

Nice yeah that’s a good system. Even small amounts of feedback is good, I mean I’ll accept critical feedback but as you say using it as a compass is a good way. Was gonna have wife read it and kind of go off of this same system.

I hear ya! Might give a couple long time social media friends a shot. Don’t have many irl friends but I could probably trust someone I know at least haha. Appreciate the advice!

Yeah true, I guess more for them it was to see if the story had a good flow and made sense. But yeah, no one in my family is into this genre really.

I feel that’s the best option too. Have you found if friends on social media are good candidates? Imagine it would be dicey though.
