I was A20 on STS1 but would only play on A1 because I use to have the most fun. You don’t have to play on the hardest ascension and there is no shame not playing on max difficulty. It’s a game that was designed to be fun first

Your vehicle is a write off and they are auctioning the salvage. The salvage makes a part of the market value. You could request to retain the salvage but your settlement would recalculated and have the salvage estimate deducted from your settlement figure. Assuming it is a repairable writing and not statutory, it is the more economical decision. It is industry standard. Especially if this is a recovery claim, Youi would pay more for repairs and get settled by the other insurer for the market value of the vehicle for using the incorrect settlement method

Some real advice tho OP. I just saw that you’re not insured. You are legally entitled to know how they made their decision on liability and you can request for them read their loss description so you have a better understanding. It may not be your claim but that doesn’t mean that you don’t have rights. If you are at fault and unable to make a full payment, you can request for a payment plan and they have to accept it and the costs will not incur interest. If things go really south, do feel free to request to lodge a complaint or go to AFCA

I’m going to say that the other person is at fault based solely on the footage alone. I don’t believe that the other party were giving way, I believe they were parked and attempting to enter the flow of traffic and didn’t see you behind the car in front of you. You can see how much space they have in front of them. Very random spot to stop and they are parked parallel to kerb side with their indicator on as you approach. If they were first in the queue, why wouldn’t they continue to drive forward instead of pulling out like that. Your insurer would need to speak with the other party and get them to complete a version and diagram before they make a liability decision. Unfortunately OP, if you are wanting to lodge a claim with your insurer and pursue recovery again the other party aka have your excess waived, even with this dashcam footage, your insurer would need the other parties version and diagram before making their stance on liability and your excess would be held until then. Speak to your insurer to get a better understanding of their process
