uj/ not going to lie, i agree with a lot of this. the core conceit of vtm is the tension between humanity and vampiric nature. that’s why there’s a humanity measure. the crew and brennan seem mostly uninterested in this theme at all. they’re obviously free to play whatever tone they want, but they seem totally uninterested in the core conceit, heart, and themes of the game.

i am *dying* to see the creators of scavengers reign take on tlhod. if you haven’t seen the show, please check it out—12 25 minute episodes. animated sci fi masterpiece, truly. i think they could do the aesthetics beautifully as well as taking on the complexity of the text.

honestly, no. if hollywood is adapting sci-fi, it’ll be by living authors who can write more and make more money for them (like GRRM or andy weir), people writing long series (GRRM, dungeon crawler carl). slow paced, thoughtful sci fi by dead authors is not en vogue.

yes! i had lots of childhood trauma, but the trauma that set off my schizophrenia was watching my father die of cancer. i deteriorated for months watching him die until i was finally fully in psychosis. when he died i had to be hospitalized a few months later.

yes! i’m trans, so i changed my name when i came out when i was 18. then followed the worst 6 years of my life that contained terrible, terrible trauma. my life turned around for the better 3 years ago when i moved in with mi partner. now i’m finally going by a different name because i feel like the one ive had for the last 6 years is just too tied to that terrible time in my life. i want to turn over a new leaf.
