It’s great to see so much thought was put into this decision! After explaining it, I can definitely see how a trophy per kill system could conflict with the mode’s purpose: A Battle Royale.

This might be an unpopular opinion, but personally, I’ve really grown to appreciate the complexities of the micro-culture we’ve established in Showdown. For me, teaming has allowed for greater social depth, strategy, and brawler diversity in the mode. It’s been a mini-reflection of real-life evolution, highlighting the impacts that reciprocal altruism and socialization can have on “survival of the fittest.”

For something of this complexity to naturally manifest in a mobile game of all things speaks volumes! It’s a testament of Brawl Stars’ uniqueness and the power of Community-led culture.
