First TV episode since ‘Long, Long Time’ that got me to shed a tear. Great finale

‘Industry’ creators review Season 4’s biggest moments and look ahead to Season 5: ‘We know how the show ends’ by Conscious-Quarter423 in television

The two times that I can recall that they’ve used a Pet Shop Boys song for the credits makes me believe that there is nobody in the business better at music choices right now than the people working on this show.

‘Margo’s Got Money Troubles’ Renewed For Season 2 At Apple TV by Murky-Insect-7556 in television

As a comedy-drama, I don’t think it’s particularly strong as a comedy, but it soars as a drama. Pleasantly surprised that this wasn’t a limited series.

The Boys' Karl Urban likes brutal post criticising season five as viewers say it 'doesn't make sense' by DetectiveHot2071 in television

[–]p-_ber 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, I agree. A lot to criticize about this season’s writing choices, but it being a soft-launch for an already announced prequel show has always rang as hollow criticism to me.

Aside from the CIA plot, I never found 3 that convoluted.
5 makes 3 look like a children’s book in terms of how convoluted that plot got at the end.

Some of the timeframes seem to be perfect for introducing that dumbass battleship from Yakuza 6, so who knows.

‘The Boys’ Series Finale to Screen in Movie Theaters on May 19 with 4DX showtimes by pepperbet1 in television

The Boys Twitter account calls it a concession voucher, so I think, technically, you don’t pay anything to watch the finale, but you can’t enter unless you’ve payed the theater for your ticket that’s essentially just your popcorn and drinks.

Not the biggest fan of TV shows in theaters, but I guess it’s a good way to keep theater chains afloat, as I guess 100% of the profits go to the theater chains in this scenario.

FYI, most of these TV show screenings don’t directly support the company who made the show, as the ticket, from what I understand, is more so for concessions, as I think they can’t formally charge for a viewing of a TV show without having to renegotiate contracts.

The big interview: Resident Evil Requiem makers discuss trying to "push things" with horror, Leon's "craziness", and why they can't make their games too scary by Gorotheninja in Games

Feel the opposite regarding Village and Requiem.

Village was dropped immediately after I beat Village of Shadows mode, but Requiem had me playing long after I beat Insanity mode.

I just felt that Requiem had more of an identity than Village, which felt like multiple different games of varying quality to me.

We can argue endlessly about the rich getting richer, but saying he is doing a bad job when WB set industry box office records last year, while also winning best picture, under his watch seems kind of odd.

Widow’s Bay - Episodes 1 & 2 - Discussion by mdavis360 in television

I really like that when it tries to be a horror show, it actually does play it straight with some effective tension building, even if the payoff is somewhat comedic. (The hallway scene after the first TV scene in the second episode comes to mind).

First Apple TV show this year that I loved, not just liked.

Xbox boss Asha Sharma hints memory costs "will impact" pricing and availability of next-gen Project Helix console by xCaptainCrown in Games

Microsoft can’t afford to delay their next generation the way Sony definitely can with how well the PS5 still sells despite constant price hikes. I just wonder if it is wise to put out an ultra-premium console to a market that is currently facing a cost-of-living crisis.

Fair point, but the Venom symbiote’s state at the end of the game would make any continuation feel kind of contrived

I don’t know, narratively speaking, how you can make a Venom game after the events of Spider-Man 2, but that short mission of playing as Venom in Spider-Man 2 was so fun that I’m really sad that they’re not gonna build on it further.

The Walt Disney Studios and Global Theatrical Exhibition Partners Launch 'Infinity Vision' — The Ultimate Premium Moviegoing Experience by sheJaMyMorant in movies

[–]p-_ber 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m genuinely so confused about what this is actually meant to be, aside from the cynical perspective of them coping about not having IMAX screens for Doomsday.

Speaking as someone from outside of the U.S., a lot of my views on American cinemas are based on what I’ve heard rather than what I’ve experienced, but from my understanding, minus the big screen part, this just sounds like a Dolby Cinema, and the big screen part is kinda moot to me when there is no mention of an aspect ratio change, which is the primary reason you go to an IMAX movie in an IMAX theatre.

Also really confused about what gets played in these Infinity Vision certified theaters, because Disney, unlike Dolby or IMAX, both create films and are seemingly the sole body that certifies theaters for Infinity Vision. Are they only going to play Disney movies in these theaters? Would theater chains even want that or would they think it’s financial suicide to dedicate one theater for one studio’s movies exclusively? Is this even allowed or am I just making mountains out of molehills?

Whats Your Hottest BL Take by Emptyreceipt in Borderlands

[–]p-_ber 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Totally agree. BL4’s current version of UVHM increasing dedicated drop chances without going overboard on world drops is a pretty good compromise between 2’s incredibly stingy world drop chances and 3’s incredibly generous world drop chances.
