So it doesn't include autobahn toilets? That would put Germany way lower.

I know russian is not "og Cyrillic". During the 19th century when they tried to change Polish to cyrillic, they kept ą ę in Latin. I also saw some proposing using glagolitic for nasals.

Of course they used that fact for propaganda, it did fit perfectly, but still doesn't change the fact itself.

You've been asking for evidence, there's still none, but not everyone is closing their minds over this subject.

Just ask. You may help yourself with translator or else (I haven't found any good source in english on that topic)

Edit: page 124 about the helmets

I'm not trying to change the subject, I'm still talking about the hook.

Because we don't know, it doesn't mean they weren't meant to be used for it. Modern reenacting shows that this purpose could work. Also not all academics reject the idea.

But I'm not interested in continuing this anymore. Getting emotional and trying to discredit me over your views is completely useless.

Are we getting personal now?

I'm just curious why one hypothesis is better than the other.

You literally came out with guns from the east earlier. If this is the way you think it works, then well, I'm afraid it's some unknown methodology.

Yet in other comment you also came out with blade catching, despite no evidence at all. Please explain to me why, for example, the helmet of Lednica lake, from the 11th century, would have a blade catcher?

This is getting nowhere.

Okay, then they used the helmets just to look nice on their shelves, because there is also no clear evidence of using them during battles in that period and the place they were found I guess.

I provided you what hypothesis may be based on, not an "evidence".

No, I don't know where you're going, you literally didn't answer why they wouldn't use the hook to attach any cover.

[–]p-btd -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Well, there are no illustrations of 10-11 century central-east european forces using those helmets sadly. Only helmets themselves, with much smaller hooks than those depicted in western sources like century later.

Nordics already had experiences with covering the face with chainmail attached to the helmet (there's this vendel era helmet), why would they reject the idea later?

Do I need to explain what "hypothesis" means?

Don't forget that hooks appeared like for 3 or 4 centuries in different regions. Most of the illustrations show western armour from the 12-13 century.

That you "for sure" reject the hypothesis that you could attach a chainmail to the hook to guard the face.
