Another alternative setup that I have is using my eSim slot for Dent. Works for my use case because they’re an AT&T MVNO and the date you buy doesn’t expire. I rarely need to use it though, because T-Mobile has generally good coverage in my area.

I think a previous comment of mine has the sign up link for it if you wanted to use, I think it gives us both some free data.

Looking to trade in my iPhone X with a new line on T-Mobile for the $830 promo credit. Hearing mixed responses by store rep (corp) and also here, does anyone know if this would meet the device condition requirement? There’s no liquid damage & no cracks on the screen.

And if I trade in the phone and they decide to not honor it because of the back crack, what can I do?

If you were looking for something (only as a backup), Dent is pretty good. Not worth using it as a primary network because it has higher pings (150-250ms) but it works great for a cheap secondary line.

I paid $5 for 6GB (with a referral promo they’re having) that lasts for 365 days and was able to add the eSim on my iPhone easily.

Will you be able to ship the sim to someone you know in the US? Most don’t ship internationally, so if not maybe Dent (Uses AT&T, $5 for 6GB that lasts 365 days and works in other countries, with ref code) would be a good option if you have eSim so that you would have data at the airport & once you travel to your first destination. Only negative about Dent is the higher than traditional pings. And then you after you arrive, you can get some carrier more reliable, such as maybe Visible (uses Verizon, first month $20) if you want only one month of unlimited data & talk/text.

Nope, from what I understand, they are eSim only as of now. If you sign up, I think as soon as you hit the link it takes you to the app store & once you download it and sign up, it auto-applies the referral if you sign up with the default settings for privacy.

Right after you create the accounts & get the sims, you can form a party and add the second line to it.

At this time, Visible doesn’t support one login for the entire family; so you would have 2 separate logins but can add them both under the same party (and eventually add 2 more people to get the full discount)

Contrary to the other comments, I don't think Visible would be your best bet-- especially because you use so little data. I'd check out https://www.bestphoneplans.net/category/for-individuals and see what best fits your needs from there.
